You live in the Philippines now right? I was wondering, is there a lot of public dislike of Floyd now?
i guess i just don't care. my dad went to ateneo so my whole pre-college life i was a fan of them. FEU means very little to me. and now i only follow american NCAA. i know i'm a minority here. but from my experience, i feel like the only one. well i live across UST, espana side. i'm a 2nd year nursing student. i could go into details, but this is the internet and people hate my opinions!
My ex gf's dad rates pacquiao higher than PBF. He is african american and he just died not too long ago. Sad.
now that's strange. considering that you go to feu. and to follow/root for american college ball here in the pinas while your own school feu is currently figuring in a championship series against ateneo is rather unusual, dont you think?
boxing fans i talk to (not to mention the semi-knowledgeable casual fans and the super casual i-watch-boxing-because-of-pacquiao fans) dislike floyd and his tactics outside and in the ring. he is a 'boring' fighter who is 'too scared' to fight manny.
More of annoyance, than real hatred. Avid boxing fans, casual boxing fans, and general sports fans in the Philippines. The general population does not care so much about Floyd. They dont talk about him, 24/7. It's always been like that, when it comes to Pac's potential or current opponents. People disliked Barrera for those cheap shots in MP-MAB I. But became fans again when he fought other fighters. People were annoyed with Morales when he said "Pac doesnt hit hard". But reverted back to being a fan of him again, when the trilogy ended.
is that stranger than me considering floyd above manny? now that seems foreign here. no loyalty for my school seems normal. i'm not the only one who doesn't care!
Whatever. Ateneo is even more loyal to their basketball team. You should be even just mildly excited, either way, 'cause Ateneo and FEU are in the finals. And Ateneo won game 1. Ateneans are wild fans. Why didnt you enroll at the Ateneo, btw? It's got more of that Ivy League reputation in the Philippines.
Kinda sad that Floyd fans who keep saying that Pac fans only became fans of boxing when pac became big.
