Hard to say at the moment, If Khan loses to Maidana will they just ditch him? We know Warren wouldn't

Warren wouldn't put him anywhere near Maidana in the first place.

Khan should beat Maidana anyway, and then his stock will go through the roof.

Right now it looks like he made the right decision - he's beginning to build up a bigger fan base among the real boxing fans, a lot of whom (myself included) were on his back when he was farting about fighting blown-up SFW's.

If he beats Maidana, that will be three big wins against legitimate top 10 guys in his division. More than that though, its three wins against guys with contrasting styles (Kotelnik, Malignaggi and Maidana). That's excellent form.

Small fish in big pond or big fish in small pond, Khan chose the latter.

That's what i mean... I see all the love khans getting from a wider audience of fans... And the recent video of him an Ortiz... It looks like hes shaping his career in the way he wants to... He looks like hes Happy in the direction hes going.. nd that makes a difference in your performances...

If he was still with Frank he'd probs still be fighting SFWs... :dead

Warren was about to enter a purse bid for the Maidana fight before he left.

I read that, but I thought that was just something he was trying to pull off because he already knew Khan was on his way.

If Khan was signed to stay with him, I very much doubt he'd put Khan anywhere near Maidana (at that time). Not really Frank's style.

    Just my opinion.

I said no simply because he would have been out at least 3 times this year and I see no reason to believe that Frank would have protected him. He stuck him in with Barrera (yes I know he was outsized and past it) and Kotelnik why would he start putting him in with soft touches after that and look at what he is doing with his stable right now can't say he isn't taking risks.

    Maybe.

I still think its too early to say, short-term it is looking like a good move, and if he does beat Maidana his star will rise even more but I just wonder what will happen if/when he does lose again, will they stick with him or drop him.

Well, they've stuck with Ortiz after the shambles of his fight with Maidana. He's starting to come back into contention again.

GBP seem to match their fighters hard, and as a boxing fan that's what appeals to me.

No Frank but you never know with these things. Sounded like from what Frank said in an interview that they where looking into making Arthur-Barrera and another DK fighter-Khan and Frank decided Khan could take Barrera so made that fight.

Either way I don't see putting Khan in with MAB as being proof that Warren was going up the standard of opponent. MAB was very much a soft touch at that weight and time in his career IMHO.
