Main Event chose UFC 124 over Vic

mate they always call me to sign up again and i slam them about there boxing coverage and costs.

i tell them they are wrong to pick UFC over boxing shows.

picking over an aussie in Vic is disgraceful

 

SKY Channel will probably pick it up instead.

 

You won't miss the fight, as the beaver pointed out SKY Channel will probably pick it up.......in fact I am certain they will pick it up.

Darchinyan's fights are usually shown on Showtime in the USA and SKY channel usually buys their PPV's. Even some of the second tier HBO boxing PPV's are picked up by SKY i.e. Adamek vs Grant the other month.

It's not a knock on boxing or Darchinyan, its just UFC sets out a schedule well in advance which Main event buys at the start of the year often months before major boxing events are even announced.

 

What a dissapointment.
I bought the UFC on Sunday and it was terrible.
A whole bunch of 3 round fights which finished abruptly and went to decisions.
The main event was awful. I won't even bother giving detail.
I have bought a few UFC fights but won't waste my money in the future.

Would have gladly paid for Vic.

 

UFC 119 ..

Cro Cop took the fight on late notice and he did not have much time to train and prepare otherwise it would have been a great fight. Mir has fought brock lester twice, his not someone you should fight without being prepared and Cro Cop learnt this lesson the hard way.

Vic is not very marketable in Australia, he needs to go fix up his english lol

 

Even with adequate preperation I don't think Cro Cop has what it takes anymore to mix it with the best. His confidence at throwing kicks in fear of the takedown is becomming more and more evident.

 

Even so, Mir is not considered the best.
Cro Cop is way past it and UFC dimly doesn't suit his discipline. He has absolutley zero to offer on the mat.
It's very suss to me to see a blackbelt jiujitsu fighter is completey unable to take down a shot to **** kick boxer.
The fight prior to the main saw 2 guys fight stand up for 3 rounds. Even when Serra was clearly being schooled toe to toe he never tookdown Lytle. Makes you wonder about a gentlemans agreement prior.
Likewise by the 3rd round Cro Cop had put in 1 high kick and 1 leg kick...2 in total..a bit strange considering it is his best weapon???

granted ufc 119 mir v cro cop was ****. but in general ufc is way more popular and more of a money maker than a vic fight. lmao

UFC 119 & UFC 118 were steaming piles of ****.
I'm a avid fan of all combat sports but I definately won't be wasting another cent on this hyped up rubish.
