I'm not Filipino but if I were and I didn't root for Pac I would take offense to your first comment. Because I'm Filipino (hypothetically) I have to be a fan? That's as ridiculous as an obnoxious Christian telling me I'd go to hell if I don't commit to Christianity. I would be proud of what Pac has done for my country and fellow countrymen but I shouldn't receive backlash from my own people just because I don't like what they're into.

By the way, too much pride can hurt. Where I live (Nor Cal), Filipinos segregate themselves and give off this obvious vibe that they're better than every other Asian group. Nobody likes them because of this attitude. I realize not all Filipinos are like this. But some people take things too far.

I prolly shouldnt have said you have to root for Pacquiao in order to be proud.

but to be rooting against him shows your lack of pride is more appropriate.
(again the exception is if you been following the sport before Pacquiao's time)

Same line that La Salle fans say to UST back in the 90's era.

true. true. i attended a la salle-feu game in the 90's.

and la salle were chanting that as if it was something funny. poor taste.

just goes to show that "catholic upbringing" does not mean **** for these people.

nah hindi naman. frustrated lang sila back then kasi dominant ang uste nung mga panahong yun tapos sila yung madalas na 2nd placer lang. asaran lang talaga dati sabi ng kuya ko (he went to ust nung era na yun).
