First of all I'm not sure it was the right decesion to replace him at all. If they haven't got an elite fighter like Bute up their sleeve it's not worth it IMO.

So anyway there are several guys besides Bute like Stieglitz, Andrade, Kelly Pavlik. But who could realisticly replace Kessler for a fight against Allan Green?

The worst case scenario would be if Green get's an easy opponent and KO's him,
and Dirrell then lose to Ward and Green proceeds to the semis instead of Dirrell.

    Thoughts..?

    Totally agree...
Noone should replace Kessler. The notion of Green maybe getting a freebee towards the semi's is absurd. I'm sure Green thinks otherwise but it is what it is.

Even if Dirrell wins or draws Ward there's a big chance now Green (or his opponent for this matter) advances to the semi finals. If Froch loses to Abraham (wich I expect) the winner of Green - TBA will also go trough if its a T/KO. :-(

    He's coming off a loss, doesn't have a meaningful win since 2007, and is a despicable *******.

    So, no.

The only one I would be content with is Bute, but he has a fight and I don't think the others would like that.
It still wouldn't be fair also, but I would love to see him kicking Green's @ss!

Yes! It would be awesome if he could come back and beat Green. With a decision he would not advance into the semis and then he could retire.

If he is faking this injury it was a damn stupid time to pull out! Only 1 fight left + a semifinal, and Allan Green would be a walk in the park for a 100% Kessler, to be fair. Its very likely he IS injured and a possible loss to Green because of that, and a chance to loose sight on one eye would def. mean game over to Kesslers future! Btw Kessler actually wanted to continure, but his trainer and doctor said no.
