This is the first fight I've watched of Luis Manuel Rodriguez. Looked to be big and strong at Welterweight, and showed a good jab and nice body work. I was intrigued with how much Gene Armstrong had left at this point given how the commentator was saying how well he performed against Middleweight champion Dick Tiger, but this was his last professional outing according to Boxrec. Was this a case of Armstrong being done, or is this a credible victory? What fights would I watch to witness a fully developed Rodriguez?
Armstrong's fights against Tiger and Hank probably took a lot out of him. Watch Armstrong's fight with Henry Hank, it's a war. Rodriguez vs Giambra is worth a watch.
Whilst I was watching him beat on Armstrong, I couldn't help but notice how big he looked. He looked to have tremendous upper-body strength. He's only listed as 5'8, though.
LMR is superb in this. In fact I think he is better against Middles than he is Welters! The Giambra footage is must see material. The best performance I have ever seen, well maybe I am exaggerating but still.
It is an amazing performance. Seriously, nothing to fault about it. I put it along the lines of Harada Kingpetch ! or Jofre I. That sort of swarming style but with amazing boxing threaded through. Honestly it is superb. Much better than Barrera LLoyd.
Nothing to fault regarding Barrera/Lloyd, but I take your point given the level of competition, etc. I know you were kidding. I thought Harada was infinitely more impressive in his first fight with Jofre, than he was with Kingpetch. I actually felt Pone was a very good opponent, he seemed to counter pretty well on the back foot, and had a pretty good jab when he threw it. Harada seemed to do best against him when he swarmed, whereas I thought he was out-boxing and out-hustling Jofre. I'll be sure to watch Rodriguez vs Giambra fight on WBVA?
Yeh I uploaded it. Honestly mate, if I had to be locked in a room with 5 fights, this one would make it on the list.
The former, I'd say. This is what had been done to him in his previous fight: [yt]Kp3445btzhY[/yt] He finished the fight with broken ribs as well. Denny Moyer was his best performance IMO.
