I'd back Murray to beat Mitchell every time but I can't see either of them doing anything at world level. Either of them could grab a random alphabet belt, but neither of them will be a legitimate "world champion".

Jim Watt made a great point in commentary. Murray is gonna be in wars what ever level of opponent he fights and he's not gonna get any better then he is at the moment, so they should step him up now while he still has the physicality to work his game and compete before his chin gets ruined and strengths erode.

I'd love to see him on Friday Night fights against Kim, Lundy or Molina.
Now what will Teddy say about Murrays previous opposition? :yep

murray has his own career, which has landed him a WBC elim. the WBC will have to nominate a new opponent, because the last one got beaten. murray's stopped domestic guys, stopped euro level guys, so the world elim is the next step. somebody like urbano antillon, or reyes sanchez.

i don't know why some of you lot get so agitated and overanxious. he's steadily getting there. murray has developed well and does not take those silly flush shots that cleverly and mitchell are taking. he's a mature, compact pro and he looks ready. he doesn't use loads of head movement but he keeps his chin down nice and tucked in.

wonder why there aren't loads of "names" on murray's record? murray wasn't a big investment like khan or ortiz. he's had to wait and wait until guys like meager & thaxton had nowhere else to go but fight him. murray is an english fighter, fights over here, needed the TV dates to make his living. stating the obvious, but in lieu of this WTF kind of problem is there in stopping all his opponents for the english, british and european titles? guys that were ranked for said titles? he hasn't been fast tracked but he's delivered in his title fights vs a variety of styles and sizes.

This will probably rival the Witter vs Hatton joke.

Murray needs to accept that the Khan fight wasn't made and he is now a bigger fighter who has achieved much more.

Murray should concentrate on JMM, Katsidis, Diaz etc

Let's hope he does as he says. It should have been him who got the chance at Katsidis, not Mitchell, who is a complete waste of talent

That's a bit harsh, how much talent did he really waste? I think even on his best night Katsidis would've been too good for him.

I agree with that but Mitchell didn't bring his best. If I was Warren i'd have nothing more to do with him after his preparations for that fight.

He worked hard making the fight, got a great purse together to bring it to the UK and Mitchell who should know all about second chances pissed it away, It annoys me given that there's fighters out there who would dream at the chance he got and give it 100%

:bbbUrbano Antillon will hit murray in the body and murray will definately feel like going back home it would be an easy victory for Antillon.
Soto vs Antillon on the other hand would go to the later rounds with Antillons coming forward boxing style and hard combinations and counters giving him the green belt.
URBANO ANTILLON DEC4 WILL BE THE CHAMP...:bbb

urbano antillon has shown vulnerabilities and won't like being hit to the body, himself.

it's typical to pick a mex or US name over a brit, by default, even when the said fighter has already been beaten up.

murray and antillon would be a tremendous matchup. and it's one that might be able to happen with both WBC rated.

You can see were Murray is coming from though, If you have fort your whole career at lightweight win all the domestic titles and then your like one fight away from a world title, your not going to jump up in weight to fight somebody who isnt champion, Maybe if Ortiz was a world champion but he isnt, he's write to stay at lightweight, he will also beat Mitchell hes head and shoulders over every lightweight in our country.
