Why would anyone pretend to be a filipino? I mean I'm proud to be one, but seriously... can't you be proud of your own race?

Ethnically, pinoys are more black than east asians. The standard of east asians, the han chinese, the anu japanese/korean are pale, thinned lip small noses and very slanty eyes, almost slit like. Southeast asians, like the pinoys, are more negroid in features and color. Socially, if you go to any prestigious institution of higher learning, residency programs or work in a highly competitive fields where blacks and pinoys are minorities, they hang out together, with pinoys shunning east asians like japs/chinos/kimies and black, for some reason, shunning africans like the nigerians or south africans...in general that is.

Etnically, Filipinos belong to the indo-malayan race, the race that primarily occupied the asia-pacific rim to include the Indonesians, some polynesians. The looks are as diverse as possible ranging from 4 feet Negoid looking to fairer skinned and taller. Trade between these tribal communities existed even before written history. Infact, song and dances and clothing of the tribal Filipinos are similar to some tribes of that region. The "Chinese" looking are more northernly, or above equator.
