There is no doubt in the world that Floyd Mayweather is the lesser fighter than Manny. Floyd has hand picked every single opponent he has faced since turning professional. He has never once proved anything by facing a fighter considered great and dangerous in their prime. He has failed to dominate vs older fighter fighters that an ATG would have easily stopped. He was sloppy against Mosley and nearly got knocked out. He barely beat ODLH. He lost to Castillo in the first fight. He shows no power recently and no bravado to fight the man who has made the public call him a coward, *****, soft, etc. How obvious is it that he has one style and needs a certain type of fighter for him to a) feel comfortable to make the fight b) for him to look dominant That style is a fighter that is older that can easily be outboxed when Floyd is in top condition or a fighter that cannot do both of the following a) exhibit wolrd class knockout power against the top 5% b) use speed and movement while also using a). So what is Floyd ? Floyd is a great boxer who deep down has no confidence or no desire to adjust his style and test his skills to EARN the title of greatest ever which he throws out as easily as he disregards earning it. End of story.
Mayweather beating Khan would be no more impressive than Pac beating Alexander/Bradley/Berto (although Pac would ice all 3 at 147). All of these guys have PROJECTED high ceilings, but none have yet to pull of superstar-in-the-making victories. Alexander's Urango uppercut was a good step, but then he looked bad and got a gift against Kotelnik. :-(
