Slow Hand Speed. Lack of athletism. No creativity with his offense More predictable than a calander. These are the things i took from this fight.
Not at all mate, People are entitled to there opinion it's that simple... It's now my job to start backing up what I say, Bad day at the office and every single fighter has them..:good Thanks for ya support mate..:good
I'll never forget it mate, I hope Im going there that's for sure.. I'll be back to myself on October 23rd:good
For Tony Bellew : Really interesting looking at your re actions to the posts , mate your a stand up man , a true warrior and a true scouser :good Everyone on this forum is behind ya mate ................. :deal
Tony obviously Sky wouldn't want to show the an Ajisafe rematch but maybe it would be worth getting him in for sparring in the future.
Tony, what are some of the techniques you and Arnie are working on to correct some of your flaws? I never thought i would say this, but you could take a few lessons from Kelly Pavlik on how to drop a basic 1 followed by a straight 2. I would like to see you measure before you let go. A say this with all seriousness, even a complete and utter bum like myself could've survived for a few seconds by just giving you some lateral movement...how concerned are you about that and do you think other fighters will use that as a blueprint on how to beat you? Everything behind the jab and more body work...remember Tone repetition is the key. :good
Tony, out of interest..... How do you rate your handspeed? And why were you so limited with your offense?
Like i've said taht was a shadow of me on friday night so don't expect to see me fight like that again. Telegraphed shots, No movement,No variety I could go on but like I said it'll be put right in the next fight and on from there. Regarding my training, I work on every aspect of the game in the gym and have been throwing plenty of one ,two's... That's how I won 3 ABA titles throwing one,two's..I also have a magnificent S&C in Everton's Dave Billows too... I boxed 1 bad fight and still won, I can't possibly fight any worse than I did on Friday and come 23rd people will see that!! Like I've said it's been and gone and Im looking forward to future fights now..:good
Tony everyone has a bad day at the office .... even me and im an accountant lol ! Your a smart bloke with your head screwed on so you dont need me to join in with the e-warriors telling you how to box , so good luck mate get back in there and prove all those doubters wrong :bbb
Just a quick change of topic while you're online Tony, 1) How do you think Tony Dodson will do, domestically at LHW? 2) David Price is very quiet, when is he out next? and finally is Nick Peet no longer writing for the Echo? He seems to have gone missing. I miss his writing and radio boxing show on City Talk. I ask you these as they are all Liverpool boxing related and expect you have your finger on the pulse.
The fight to me wasn't that alarming because it was just completely obvious Bellew just didn't use any of his boxing ability. I'd be more concerned if he was trying to do the right things and looked that bad, but he wasn't. He just looked like a frustrated man that expected to KO his opponent and with each round that passed that frustration grew and the performance became more desperate. He's got the size, he's got a jab when he uses it, he just needs to be far more consistent and use the jab as a real weapon and measure the power shots from there. In some ways this performance will take the pressure off now, because Tony has looked bad once the expectations are lower and he doesn't have to worry about blasting his opponent and what we and the crowd think. I don't think Tony has to do anything special in the ring, as slip touched on, Kelly Pavlik has made a career out of a jab/right hand, size and power. If he keeps it fairly basic and the key word is controlled, I think the results would be special and thats all that matters.
