i don't understand why people are so impacient in seeing Bute in the 'big' fights (by the way, i believe Andrade will prove in the near future how bigger W he was for Bute); i think he already planned to take the Joe Calzaghe strategy; Calzaghe defended the WBO title (even a weaker one than IBF) until he was 34 years old; only after he took the other titles fighting Lacy, (Bika), Kessler;when and if Bute defeats Brinkley (highly probable), the SuperSix semifinals will free 2 man; it could be anyone Dirrel, Ward, Abraham or Froch; only Froch will have no need to fight Bute as he will go to 175, the rest will target Bute's belt, that's why he need to hold on to his title and use it as a trading coin as he is not very popular and highly regarded yet, in the states. So Bute will choose for his defense one loser from the S6. Pascal is a great fighter, his only lost came to Froch: he knew he could have outboxed Froch in England but it could have been a close fight that could have justified a hometown decision; he didn't took that path, he went for a KO by standing in front of Froch and exchanging power punches... and he lost. But Hopkinks is like the Death Star, he has a very good chance to win by UD against Pascal; he targets more fame and more money, he won't take the titles; either way , win or lose, Pascal will keep his belt and rematch Dawson; That means two fights from now we won't see Bute-Pascal; even if both win , by that time a Super Six champion wil emerge and take on Kessler while the winner from Bute and semifinalist from S6 might fight the finalist from S6 for the IBF belt. After that we might see a fight for the undisputed champ at 168, perhaps sometime in the summer of 2012; that is a best case scenario. Even if somewhere down the path most probably, rematches will occur this may delay the whole thing a year or so. And even if somewhere down the path, Bute loses his title, i think he could become at any time in the next 3-4 years, mandatory for any belt at 168.

Any news about Bute from training camp or something ? Is he preparing in Montreal, or in the States ? There are two weeks and a half till match time, I can't wait to see him performing again. I think that in the last 6 months I watched his last 3 fights like 100 times or more without getting bored!! FORTA BUTEEE
Bute is in training camp in Florida. http://www.radio-canada.ca/sports/PlusSports/2010/09/23/005-bute-sauve-jeudi.shtml
He trains with Diaconu (good thing for Adrian). He had several sparring partners and is working on his inside game. He'll have to be better on the inside if he wants to beat Ward, so it's a good time to work on that. He seems to be very happy of his camp, which is at the same gym than his two last bouts. He even rents the same house, so he feels very comfortable. Many french speaking reporters went to his camp, but since there is not much interest in Bute-Brinkley on the forum, Bute fans didn't post links of what they wrote.
That's nice .... really good news. It will be perfect if he learns how to clinch better I still can't get out of my mind Andrade struggling in the clinch and succeeding in having 1 hand free to keep punching all the time. He was being punched more in the clinches then in the fight itself.
:good Why didn't i thought of that? It will be nice to not need to clinch and when u want some space just push with glove or shoulder
Bute has already learned to push. He was doing it against Andrade in the rematch. He has to know how to work from the inside. He's good from medium and long distance, has all the shots, but he can learn more from short distance.
It's hard for Bute cause to be effective in the inside game you need to be strong. And at the Elite level he's not really strong.
After Andrade 1, he worked a lot to gain some muscles. His physical trainer worked a lot on his legs. i think he is stronger than before but that won't ever be his main asset. He's not Librado.
