This just about sums it up. There's no way Tyson could have taken what Frazier did in Manila. He simply did n't have the heart that a Frazier or an Ali had.
Tyson wouldnt need to take so many punches (in his prime anyway). Frazier took a beating and proved that he had heart. Tyson had a better chin, better handspeed, better combinations, a better defense (and a better highlight reel :rasta) And Tyson has just as much heart as Frazier. Ali was never known for KO power whcih is why Frazier was able to take his punches. Now what happened when Frazier went in against a puncher? Compare that to the punches Tyson took from Lennox. If Tyson and Frazier swapped opponents, i guarantee that Frazier gets KTFO quicker than Tyson. George Foreman commented on Tysons heart during the Lennox fight and Freddie Pacheo commented on it during the Ruddock fight. Tyson had heart and tons of it. He got up against Douglas, he got up against the Holyfield KD and he was on his feet when the fight was stopped, he got up against the first Lennox KD. The only time Tyson never got up was against Lewis. Tyson has just as much heart as Frazier.
Wow, Frazier took a load of punches from Ali who was never known for his KO power anyway What happened when he went in against an actual puncher? What was his excuse then? He was favoured to beat Foreman at the time, people were saying Foreman was made for him. At least Tyson has an excuse, he went to prison for 3 years and wasnt even at his best before then. Frazier may have had the better heart, but Tyson pretty much beats him in every other dept, apart from resume. I admit its wrong to compare Foremans power to say Lennoxs. Foreman was the hardest hitter Frazier faced and Frazier was all over the place for 2 rounds (While in his prime i may add). The hardest hitter Tyson ever faced was probably Lennox, Tyson still lasted 8 rounds while completely utterly shot himself. So if were talking about how much punishment a person can take = heart, Tyson has much more heart than Frazier.
He was pretty determined before jail. You cant take the kind of punishment he did and be weak in the cohones
Tyson after Holyfield II was officially done. He looked shot in his next fight against Botha. I think that's when he really stopped caring about boxing.
