John Watson Jr V Gavin Rees - British Title

    I hear on the grapevine that John Watson may be fighting Gavin Rees for the British title in November.

    I think Watson will win this on points. Rees is finished in my opinion and Watson looks like a decent prospect with a good future.

    Anybody know if this fight rumour is true?

    Who do you think will win?

    I do not think Rees is finished but I like John Watson. I favour Rees he is better than people realise. He got a bit lucky but you cannot be that bad if you win a world title. If Watson wins it will be impressive.

    the fight is november 6th in cardiff. will be on sky.

    Hope its true, this is a cracking cross roads fight for me, been dying to see Rees get a decent fight at lightweight.

    I remember seeing Watson struggle with the stocky Ben Murphy not long ago so I reckon Rees takes this wide points.

    Rees has to be the must under rated fighter on the planet, people forget how he performed in the Kotelnik fight before he got stopped - Twas a decent fight, then he wins the toughest prize fighter ever beating Cook, Bami, Lynes. All this at a weight he is way too small for.

    If Watson wins this I will be very impressed.

    Neither of them have a punch but I fancy Watson as the better boxer. I think with Watson's jab, Rees will struggle to get near him.

    Looking forward to this one though. I have been looking forward to seeing Watson in with a quality opponent.

    Rees has been in with a different level though mate and shown no signs of decline.

    Is that Confirmed for Cardiff Rob??, Rees normally fights in Newport, aint seen a fight in Cardiff for ages so fingers crossed.

    Hope this fight gets the attention it deserves, probably not.

    I'd go with Rees and his experience at the moment.

    Nah, I didn't see him struggle with Murphy. In fact, I thought he boxed incredibly well against the underrated Murphy. He did struggle with Gethin though, floored (not sure if it was counted?) and almost stopped in the last round.

    Having said that, I think Rees (another fighter who is underrated) will win this fight if it's made.
