The point that is being missed (due all this nonesense about "ownage") here is this:
This guy in the video Bryan Brooks has sparred with them all
He singles (only) MP out for using smaller 14OZ gloves during sparring
He says he had to wear 16OZ gloves when he sparred PM - claiming "its not fair"
16OZ gloves appears to be standard for sparring - agreed
So why is MP the only one wearing less than standard sized gloves in sparring and equally why is he making his oppenents wear bigger gloves than him when apparently this is not the norm (as Bryan Brooks suggests)

The point Spud is trying to make i guess is - "is Roach hiding something?"
Probably its just another way of training his fighter - perhaps the 14OZ gloves help him maintain his hand speed better than 16OZ (in which case fair doesn't come into it) - perhaps PM was at a critical time in his training when they met - perhaps its a confidence thing - either way the video suggests it isn't normal or "standard" for one guy to wear 14OZ and the other 16OZ - get it?

or maybe you think this guy Brookes is talking complete shite and it never happened?

Thanks for elaborating on one my points.

These guys on here do not think it is wrong for certain fighters to get other advantages.

You're still missing the point. These sparring partners are being brought in for a reason, to help Pacquiao...it may benefit them sparring the #1 P4P boxer, but essentially they are there to be competitive and to try replicate anything Roach asks.

The 16oz gloves are to protect against any freak injuries. Whereas, Pacquiao will be using 14oz (?) gloves for 2 reasons...obviously less weight and closer to the gloves he will be wearing during the bout, and because when he sticks the 8/10oz gloves on; on fight night...they are going to feel really light.

It's not about gaining advantages over sparring partners, because what would be the point in that come fight night? The sparring partners are there to try be competitive, adopting a similar style to said opponent...and to get beaten up essentially, whilst getting paid.

The guy is, for all intents and purposes, a Pacquiao/Roach employee - it's not about fairness, it's about doing what you're paid to do - the sparring partners are paid to help Roach get Pacquiao ready for his fight. If they don't want the work, the money and the experience of sparring with one of the top fighters in the world then no one is forcing them too. It's not hard to understand that this isn't about advantages, it's not a competitive fight - it's a tool to get Pacquiao ready for his fight.

And don't act like your original point had anything to do with fairness or advantages - your first point was an insinuiation that Roach was 'hiding' something. But you've changed your arguement about ten times throughout the thread whenever they get discredited.

you are missing the point - read slower - the point is MP appears to be the only one doing this - why only him? - when you address that point you will have found the point of the thread - good luck

****, sorry - I didn't scroll past spud's post to read yours before I clicked 'quote', so I've just basically reiterated everything you said.

Great minds and all that though . . .

Who cares if he is the only one who does that...has it stopped him from becoming the #1 P4P?

If he was doing this to take advantage of sparring partners and to "hide" anything...wouldn't that be a negative for him come fight night? If he wasn't getting the most out of his sparring which Spud seems to be implying...why has he been so successful over the past couple years?

I don't think one of us on our own could convince him anyway...he needs two people to drill it into his head.
