If John Murray didn't talk about Khan no one at all would know about him outside of boxing circles. It was the same for Witter and for Froch. Why? Because they all have the same useless promoter who couldn't promote a bucket of water in a house fire. Hennessey talks all the time about 'doing it the right way' and going for the British and european titles but what is the point of dwelling there if you're supposedly above that level? You didn't see Wayne Rooney burst onto the scene against Arsenal and then go and spend 5 years on loan at Wycombe. Look what Hayemaker did with Groves, they were talking about DeGale but instead of just putting Groves in there with Polish journeymen and telling 700 people at the Wigan Town Hall that they wanted DeGale they put him in a position where DeGale is now chasing Groves. Khan doesn't need Murray because he's moved past him. The sad thing for Murray is that it doesn't even look like he's started the chase yet.
nah,murray is boarder line,khan is fringe mate. i think murray will improve,he was not a top notch am which has been stated before. its a big advantage fighting am all over the world at top level,the Cubans,russkies ,chinese ect fight a lot more pro like than our am's. would khan beat murray,yes,but i like murray,he is a tough muddy****er,and tough muddy****ers who come to fight are right up my street :good

If I remember correctly it was a vacated title that Murray fought Buckland for the EBU. So yes he still has to prove himself at Euro level, World level is out of the question.

Joe, If John Murray is so good then why out of those meagre 24 amatuer bouts did he only win 16? and lost 8? For every two bouts he won he lost one. Also if he is such a hard working Pro why then did he fail to make weight and loose his title on the scales? You make it sound like a world title shot is a birth right, Even if he got a shot a world title its one thing to get a 'shot' at a title, Its another thing winning it, Its even harder defending it, Further still unifiying the titles. The way John Murray is going he will enter a world title fight with a 30-0 like Salita and get blasted out the second he steps into the ring with a world class fighter because he has been so over-protected throughout his career and never stepped up the competition. John is going to 26 soon so he needs to step up the competition.
Well, they're obviously away to step up the competition, aren't they? He's 25 and its the right time to do so. Joe, whats your honest views on how John has been promoted, is he happy with things? With so many big fights down the line, I really hope he doesn't suffer the same fate as Frochy.
