I happen to think Chisora has real potential but it doesn't matter even if Chisora is not that good because Warren is the master when it comes to building a name for his fighters. He can make somone look good and get them paydays anyway by fighting lesser fighters, and yet Chisora is willing to step up NOW. If Chisora is that bad, then surely he'll get humiliated by Wlad and that will mess everything up for the future. Isn't that a risk? If Chisora is NOT that bad, then surely he could wait rather than take Wlad on now in a risky fight. Either way you look at it, it's a risk. I have to disagree with you there man. I think Chisora has a lot more to lose than Haye who could have got his ass humiliated by Wlad in his next fight and still retired a millionaire. Chisora does not have that luxury and if he gets humiliated or Lacy'ed.............He could still come back from a defeat as long as he doesn't get embarassed. I think it's the right move, but there is that risk, so props to him.

    Seconded.

Should Wlad beat Chisora (as everyone expects), Chisora can go straight back to the level he is at right now. Why wait for a shot at the genuine title when the division is this poor?

I'm 100% behind Chisora and Warren on this one. The positives for taking this fight far outweigh the negatives, IMO. Go Del Boy!!!:bbb:woot

  6. this ain't about $$$ as del boy is seriouslly loaded anyway!

This is to try and land some lucky punch on wlads chin to become world champ !

Lol i can't believe they even offered him the shot

There's no negative to this fight at all.

Other than that he might lose..... well, gee whizz!

Don't take a fight in case you might lose..... great reason for staying at domestic level, which is empty too.

Euro level is just crammed with guys that are content to fight bus drivers whilst ducking Wlad anyway..... not as if there's a lot to be had there either.

Major props to Del Boy if it does happen but we don't even know if he can last 12 rnds let alone with the best HW on the planet. He needs to shift about 10 pounds and improve his stamina to give himself the best chance possible. Will still only be a slim chance at that mind but a win win situation for him

yep, as I said, as long as Chisora doesn't get a Lacey style beating he'll be okay. I applaud him for taking this risk. My second and third posts in this topic might look like they're contradicting my first one but I was talking relatively. Compared to Haye I think Del Boy has a lot more to lose and is risking a lot more, but by no means do I think it's the wrong move or that he can't come back from a defeat.

It is partly about the money man. del boys clued in you hear him talk and paydays are often mentioned. Thats cool its his job and as a fan i appreciate his honesty.

To say Chisora's confident in his abilites is like saying Arsenal like to pass a little bit. He wont be passive like Chambers, Peter, Johnson etc and although as most of us agree this likely wont be enough to win, the likelihood of him looking awful is unlikely. This with the payday makes it a sensbile fight, he'd learn more in this fight than the previous 14 and its refreshing to see someone willing to put a serious risk on his unbeaten record in search of the biggest prize.

He shocks the world and his place in history is set- as a minimum he'd be right behind James Douglas in the upset kid records. He loses, he drops to the European level/American vets he was going to anyway.

Worst case he gets blasted but people expect this and Chisora doesnt come across as a guy who'd let it affect him too badly mentally

Got a text from a mate

"I was at the Sky Sports Ringside show last night in Epsom for Help for Heroes. Del Chisora was there and was openly talking about the Klitschko fight - seems as you pointed out, the deal is done. He was even offering the soldiers there four free ringside tickets to the fight."

Perfect fight for Del boy ...win win time !

If he shocks Wlad or puts up an impressive performance in defeat his stock will grow massively .. he gets world exposure too !

If he loses he will be right were he is now as it was only to be expected - so another title defence of his current titles and he will progress to another world title shot ...

Del boy has nothing to lose !

He has got something to lose...confidence in in own abilities. Getting outclassed can do that to a fighter. At the moment he's unbeaten Britsh Champ coming of the best performance of his career, the momentem is going in the right direction.
A step up is needed but a a long slow beatdown by the far more experienced Wlad will take away far more than it gives imo.
