in my club most wear 16-18oz gloves. The less the glove weighs,the smaller it gets in size. I tend to think that,although Manny may seemingly have an advantage of some kind in punching power over his spar partners(2 oz aint fkall considering headgear and bigger spar partners etc) he also has less glove to act as a barrier to incoming shots coming his way.

So, whilst some may only focus on a perceived "advantage" he may have,they erroneously overlook the "disadvantage" aspect at the same time.

The bigger the glove the harder to get past. Get my drift? not sure if i have made my point but have given it a try at least :rasta

 

We could debate anything as simple as this, but that would mean giving too much credence to something not really worth debating past the surface level. Jesus Christ man go to any boxing gym and learn something before making yourself look like an ass. There are different types of sparring there is "controlled" sparring where fighters don't go all out trying to knock each other out and don't learn anything, controlled sparring is to better your skills and technique with, that's why some great fighters sometimes don't look that great when they are sparring because they work more on defense or moving around the ring, but even so they are being effective, like your boyfriend Floyd. 16 oz gloves can still hurt as much as 10 oz.

If the guy can punch and he's wearing 16oz and you can't punch worth a **** and your wearing 8oz your still getting rocked. Now if your wearing a puncher's glove like Cleto Reyes compared to a different glove brand you WILL feel a difference because it has to do more with the design than the actual weight.

It's interesting when people debate about real boxing...but when "debating" about the size of glove certain boxers wear to spar...and how many advantages can be drawn from it (whether they are cheating or not), no that doesn't really interest me.

And also, when I have to be "Welcomed to the debate"...that doesn't interest me either. I posted on this thread before you (unless you are Spud1), shouldn't I be the one who "Welcomes you to the debate?"...or do you want to "debate" the meaning behind who should invite who to the debate?...because I'm confused, you seem to know all the answers but have failed to share any of them regarding 'Freddie's secrets'/what this "something" is. You are so willing to debate, but have yet to. :huh
