I do. How anyone thought Mitchell would win is beyond me. Even now it still amazes me why people thought Mitchell had any chance of a win.

It's definately a good debate as I can see the logic in both arguments for and against the fight. Personally, I just think it's a risk worth taking at this point in time in the HW division. I think everyone can agree that Chisora should get massive props for taking the fight if it gets signed.

As an aside, can people (including myself, I'll admit) really moan about Haye fighting Audley now that Wlad might be fighting Chisora and Vitali is fighting Briggs next?:think

i agree with most of your posts fella....and i thought this at first too...
but, the more i think about it, i think about a 50 year old chisora sitting somewhere and thinking how he turned down a chance to fight for the world heavyweight title, and how he never did get another chance...
because chisora, as much as i like him, could become a euro champ and have a few fights with tough contenders who'll stop him getting another try at the big prize...

Fair enough. But this fight has the potential to set him up for a career that sends him back to third grade drinking milk from those little 4 oz, cardboard containers. Idk, I know it's all about the 7 figures but this ain't a good look for Chisora; given the right style and Wlad is a thudding damaging puncher! The unique thing about lil Klit is he combines power with accumulation of punches, his jab is as hard as most fighters power punches.

Chisora is still under construction and doesn't even have a decent punchers chance. With the heavyweight landscape the way it is and the potential he's shown, he's a shoe-in to get a chance in more favourable circumstances down the road.

Some of you lot are so clueless to say you go to the bother of posting on a boxing forum

Firstly, How some of you think this is a bad move for Chisora is beyond belief. This is the highest level the guy is ever going to fight, the opportunity might never come again and probably wouldn't. It's not as if fighting Klit early is going to ruin his career considering he's hardly the next Mike Tyson and if anything it propels his name into the limelight..

and secondly, to you frothing at the mouth Haye haters... There is a huge difference in class between Chisora and Haye. Haye brings to the table a huge amount of money which is why negotiations are completely different. Saying that this makes Haye looks stupid is nonsense. Even if Klit offered Chisora 50/50.. which he wouldn't, 50/50 of the purse from Chisora Vs Klit cannot be compared to the significantly larger purse of haye Vs Klit.

Can somebody explain to be why there was outrage when Haye decided to fight Audley, but not when Wlad takes a fight with a guy at exactly the same level?

Thats the big issue here IMHO. Its whether you think Chisora is a top prospect who is nailed on for a world title shot at some point down the road in a poor HW division.

If you think he is a world class prospect then swerving a fight with Wlad in order to develop his career makes sense but if you think that Chisora is likely to stall at Euro level or the fringes of world class then taking a title fight that my never materialise again becomes an attractive proposition.

I think its a strange opponent for Wlad to be taking on but the reason there's not as much flak is

Chisora is considered better than Audley,
Wlad did all he could to make the fight with Haye

He not exactly spoilt for opponents and at least Chisora gets him in the British press and gives him a platform to try and push for a fight with Haye. I think thats a big factor behind this fight for Wlad taking pm Chisora.

It's a shame there's no halfway interesting or decent American heavyweight to generate some excitement. I mean, Chambers and Arreola werent that bad, but they weren't nearly good enough. If any half decent guy with a KO punch came along now he could be huge.

Very good point, one thing thats missing from this, if thats his plan...a willing David Haye.

The build up to Haye/Wlad after all this waiting should be interesting. If we like it or not, the fight has probably, well definately become a far bigger event than it was before.

Maybe he's hoping getting in the daily papers in the run-up to the Chisora fight will allow him to goad Haye in to a fight? Outside of boxing fans Wlads "side of the story" hasn't been given much of an airing in the UK and Haye has been able to take on Harrison instead of Wlad with very little resistance from the Average Joe sports fan.

The build-up to Wlad-Chisora could change all that....

Not sure of my stance on this one... good luck to Del Boy though, I would have preferred him to have a few more fights, make some improvements, and then take on Klitchsko and give a decent account of himself... not sure how much he can do between now and December though.... surely cant do worse than Peters did recently??
