I'll ask you the same question I asked spud... if you think this whole topic is debate worthy, what exactly is the side you are taking with this particular debate? And please don't say something like "you should already be able to figure that out from the opening post" because I'm pretty sure it will go much smoother once you and spud actually make a valid, debate worthy statement. not some vague "you should know from the Opening post alone" statement.

    Welcome to the debate

Dont be ****ing stupid this fight is at 154 anything from 147 up in sparring 16 ounces are the norm even amateurs use 16 ounce gloves for **** sakes....
at 140 and lower they would use 14s unless there were issues with a fighters hands.....

Christ one more time..... - apparently according to the guy in the video (did you watch it?) MP is the only fighter who he has sparred against (and he appears to have sparred against alot of big names) that uses 14OZ gloves when his partner is using 16OZ gloves

Why is this? - why is MP the only one to do this? i don't have a "side" or "angle" particularly but i think its an interesting point to debate and maybe some of the more evolved posters could cast some light on the subject

this is my take from page 11

"Probably its just another way of training his fighter - perhaps the 14OZ gloves help him maintain his hand speed better than 16OZ (in which case fair doesn't come into it) - perhaps PM was at a critical time in his training when they met - perhaps its a confidence thing - either way the video suggests it isn't normal or "standard" for one guy to wear 14OZ and the other 16OZ - get it?

or maybe you think this guy Brookes is talking complete shite and it never happened?"

either way some of you need help - you know who you are - please try and read slower and make sure you pick up all the points.

You need help man. Its a sparring session. In the ring they both wear the same size gloves and thats what counts. What angle are you looking at to suggest this is unfair. If hes in sparring with manny hes getting paid to spar with manny, following mannys rules. Its not a boxing match, its training to prepare for the upcoming fight. What good would it do manny to give himself a massive advantage in training? It not like he benefits by being unfair.
