Andriy Kotelnik, the uncrowned WBC/IBF LWW champion who was robbed according to 80% of our posters in Devon Alexander's hometown this summer could face Victor Ortiz on the December 11 Khan-Maidana undercard, according to Ukranian reports.

Is this a Golden Boy 140lbs mini-tournament in the making? Maybe, but GBP match-makers are taking a mighty risk with Kotelnik, someone I warned the Alexander followers about as much as I warned the Ortiz boys about Maidana. Much respect if it gets made, but Kotelnik will be Victor's first true in-shape championship level opponent, and while all the praise goes to Khan, Devon and Bradley at the moment, I believe this fight is just as significant as any of the upcoming hyped bouts. Unfortunately due to the disgraceful hometown call and HBO's cover-up, Kotelnik will come in as the unrecognized champion and Victor's stock is pretty low at the moment too, so if the fight gets made, it will fly under the radar, but who really cares, it'd be a true top level 140lbs bout with the winner having an excellent chance vs. any LWW on the planet.

    Hopefully this fight gets made.

Just another multi-KD victory for Ortiz.

    Interesting Matchup.

I prefer this matchup for Kotelnik much much more than Berto.

Very good fight, and if it happens 140 will clear itself out by the end of next year with an undisputed champion at this rate.

:nono I don't think Kotelnik has ever being decked and that includes fights against Alexander, Khan and Maidana.

Good fight but if Golden Boy think this will be easy for Victor cos Kotelnik lacks power then they need to think again. Kotelnik is solid world class and will provide Victor with a big test. Solid card overall if it happens:happy

    Why do you say that?

He showed in his last fight that he is ready to step up in class. He wants to throw his name in the hat at 140 and this is a good way to do it.

Oh no, all my 314 alts are compromised! Do you actually WATCH boxing or just listen to what the commentators have to say while blurry things flash on your 8" black&white TV?

I'm not saying it wasn't close, but Alexander busted his ass during that fight and worked every minute of every round.

Kotelnik was very impressive, but he was counter punching a guy who wouldn't stop and getting a lot of chances to look good in spurts.

    And what a coincidence!
