There's a poster on ESB that goes by the name "Assasin" that claims Frazier "whooped" Ali in the their 3rd fight. He is on record on ESB saying it at least 3 times."Whooped" is the exact expression that he used.I **** you not.

That isn't necessarily inaccurate. He just didn't complete the sentence. They whooped each other.

Indeed. You could make a case that if the fight had continued either guy would've gone down in the final 15th round.

Yes, and I agree. Ali was on dialysis after the fight and pissed blood for a week. The fact that Frazier lost the fight does not erase the fact that he beat the crap out of Ali.

They may have battered each other, but not only was Frazier the one that couldn't continue, but Ali was battering him late in the fight. The quote by ASSasin was that Frazier "whooped" Ali because of the beating that Ali took.THAT was the complete sentence.I'M the one that should have completed it:good. That is a fantastic avatar,by the way.Chava was the best featherweight I've ever seen.

And didn't Ali beat the crap out of Frazier, too?Could Smoking Joe barely see out of his eye, hardly hold his arms up and defend himself at fight's end?He said that Frazier "whooped" Ali because of the beating Ali took.Honestly, what about the beating Frazier took, too?Everyone in the boxing universe knows how diffucult the fight was.It was a classic contest of will and fortitude. But Frazier was the one that was getting battered in the end.Talk about ****ing courage.Holy ****.In my opinion,Frazier had more will and heart than any heavy I could think of.

True.Exactly why the fight is way up there in boxing lore. They spent many rounds battering the **** out of each other. It's the best heavyweight fight I've ever seen. But at the end of the fight, who was left standing?

Pffft.. Neither guy. Frazier was on the stool and Ali fell to the canvas from exhaustion. :deal

Yeah, but Frazier agreed to the stoppage. He protested at first, but then at the end said, "Okay," and allowed Futch to stop the fight.

While in the Ali corner it was the exact opposite. It was Ali who wanted to quit and Angelo Dundee was the one egging him on to continue.

Don't believe me? Watch the Thilla in Manilla documentry on HBO for the full details.

No.You're reading my post wrong.I never inferred that Frazier quit.Never.Quitting wasn't any part of Frazier. What I wrote was that he was worse off by fight's end.Trainer Eddie Futch stopped the fight because he didn't want his man to take any more punishment.Frazier was the one that protested to Futch that he wanted to continue, but Futch felt that Joe had had enough.

:lol:Haha, yeah I know. When Futch stopped it,both Frazier and Ali were both seated on their stools as it was between rounds. Then Ali went down to the canvas because he was exhausted.I meant it figuratively:good:lol:
