Bruno took a load of heavy punches throughout the 11 rounds with Witherspoon before he wilted. He took punches that Haye wouldn't even agree to be within a mile of. Haye's never fought a top-level heavyweight puncher. ****, you could argue that Audley Harrison will be the most dangerous puncher he's faced. Bruno certainly had inadequacies at the top level when it came to surviving and overcoming tough battles and men of equal power, but we are talking about a level well above anywhere Haye has come close to. Bruno was ridiculed and slated in the press for fighting the kind of stiffs and has-beens that Haye is fighting now. Haye's best win to date is a performance that matches what a decrepit old Holyfield can do. That's pathetic. He's more on the level of a Herbie Hide than a Frank Bruno. And all three of them aren't much good.

Bruno would have destroyed Mormeck inside a round or two. Barrett would be battered mercilessly in one-sided fashion. And in the British press at least, he would have been slated for fighting such feeble opponents. The question of his vulnerabilities would be unlikely to come up against such easy opponents. I don't think Haye would last long against Witherspoon, and I doubt he could keep away from Smith all night. Those guys would put him to sleep. If he manages to dethrone Wlad it will probably be 2-3 years in the future and another win over an old man. More likely Haye will retire after a win over Audley and a win over Bernard Hopkins.
on watching some of that footage i'll admit that he wasn't as bad as i'd remembered but i still think haye would beat him. he was not a natural fighte., or do you disagree ??
No, I don't think Bruno was a natural...and I think that Haye is a natural. As for whether or not he could beat Frank Bruno? Let's wait and see if he can beat Fraudley first!
I take it you don't like Haye then I don't think anyone would consider the undisputed Cruser champ Mormeck a feable opponent. Bruno may well beat him, I wouldn't debate that too much but how many fighters has Bruno actually beat who are better than Mormeck? McCall and maybe Coetzer or Coetzee
