Running in parallel with Beestons thread I offer you a chance to redeem yourselves and tell the forum of your finest hour when you got it right and everyone (or nearly everyone) got it wrong!!!
i got the hopkins beating pavlik right and thought mosley wud outpoint margarito, didntn think he's stop him tho
I had money at 6/4 Kats over Mitchell. The biggest odds I've ever had money on with a fighter was Holyfield-Tyson II. Holyfield was the 4/1 dog but a cert in my book after the way he dealt with Tyson in the first fight.
I think a lot of people will say Pavlik vs Hopkins and Cotto vs Margarito (to a lesser extent). I was wavering a bit with Katsidis vs Mitchell, on the way to Haye vs Ruiz me and NO MAS were talking about it and I said that I was edging toward Katsidis but wasn't sure. Jason Booth vs Michael Hunter was put down as a 50-50 fight but I think most people edged toward Booth pretty strongly..... FWIW - Teddy Atlas and Ron Borges both had Holyfield in the first Tyson fight..... but was that intelligent analysis or Tyson hatred syndrome? Or both?
I was one of the few who said Mayweather would walk down Mosley and possibly cause Mosley's corner to pull him out, which very nearly happened around the 9th and 10th rounds. Most thought Mayweather would do his run and shoe-shine routine.
I got the same. Backed Hopkins to win on points, and was shitting it in the last couple rounds cos I thought he was gonna get the stoppage. Went into the betting office to do Mosely on points but changed my mind and just did him to win. Also had Dirrell to beat Abraham. Had him to beat Froch too :-( And will have him to beat Ward. In the main my boxing bets go with the flow and any upset picks i make usually fail miserably
I was a bit twitchy because you always wonder when Warren brings someone good over whether they've seen better days. Especially with the money he put up too..... and the whole event with the packed undercard. As it turned out Mitchell was probably flattered by shutting Prescott out and Katsidis underrated having lost two fights at world class, at least one of which he should have won. A lot of people were split on Martinez vs Pavlik.... I had Martinez by stoppage mainly because I was desperate for Pavlik's reign at middle to end.... there wasn't a lot of thought in it though
foster jnr and burns would be recent ones. i picked sprott to beat audley the first time round, and also rogan to beat audley. also i recall having williams to beat then undefeated scott gammer when most on the forum i used at the time thought williams was beyond shot and would be stopped early
