boxing on form, (and not brawling) hes able to at least hold his own with anyone at 140...and has a good chance of beating any of them. The fact that he hasn't got many big fights yet, is more to do with his management than him. Most people in Britain hadnt heard of him before he won the British title...doesnt mean he was ****.

he ducks no one..and when he finally gets a title shot, im sure he'll win it.

I'm not saying that he's ****, far from it and i've no doubt that he would take on anyone put in front of him. I just took exception to you slagging off Khan for taking on "cherrypicked weak punchers" when he hasn't faced anywhere near the **** poor level of opposition as McCloskey

Just back from the McCloskey fight. Great night of boxing. Alexei Acosta on the undercard was sensational. McCloskey was a class act - round 4 in particular was him at his best.

There were about 40 or 50 Scottish fans over supporting Morrison and it looked like they had been on the **** all day, but they gave Morrison great support and beforehand they were singing and dancing all over the place - I thought they were going to do the ****in Conga at one stage! lol

Just back myself. The Sky plus gave up the ghost after round 3, so I missed the kd and the ko. I was in the cheap seats, so I didn't see the kd properly through the RTE cameraman in the way but I thought the end of the fight was called exactly right.

The Scottish fans irritated the hell out of me, but I guess thats my problem as I didn't get to Letterkenny early enough to have more than a few pints.

I thought Luis Garcia was superb again. We'll miss him wen he goes big time.

Finbarr Eade fight was a bit of a barnstormer. The draw was probably right after Eade got knocked down. The wrong fighters being announced can't have helped.

    Oh and Danny Boy.......wtf?

McCloskey is a good little fighter but he's not in Khan's stratoshpere, guy's like righthook should appreciate the win over Morrison for what it is - a good domestic victory against a former British champ. Amir has handed beatdowns to guys that have proven themselves to be on a higher level to McCloskey (Kotelnik and Malignaggi).

You are confusing Eadie with Micheal McLaughlin - he drew. Eadie won 40-36. But, you are right about the announcer - he made a bollocks of Eadie's announcement - calling him Michael McLaughlin.

Matter of opinion there, aint it. You said you could name 10 people that would beat him, would love to hear the ten, or could it be that you are prone to exagerate a bit?! :patsch

****ing hilarious thread  McCloskey looked back to his old self after the Lauri fight and put on a great performance against a game Morrison, who is no bum btw. As for Amir Khan, it might be wise to listen to what Bernard Dunne had to say on the matter, he didn't sound convinced that Khan would even get past Maidana and let's face it, he knows what he's talking about here. I personally don't think Khan would choose to fight McCloskey, he is more of a threat than most of you would like to admit.

IMHO its up to McCloskey to step up in class and try to force a fight with Khan. As it stands I doubt he's even on Khans radar.

I think he deserves a fight with Khan within the next year or so and its the most realistic chance at a title. But as you said its doubtful Khans even thinking about fighting him now, he could do with beating some well known contenders at world level to make the top fighters at 140 take notice

Mate can I ask how does he deserve a fight with Khan? He has beat no one relevant in the division he just beat Barry Morrison who is ranked very low in the British Rankings, McClosky needs to prove he belongs in Khan's company. All these haters can say Khan is a glassed jaw fraud, but he has beat Kotelnik,Malignaggi and now fighting the number 4 in the division.

McClosky has not even fought anyone in the top 30, he is so far off Khans radar it is hard to see how he gets on it.

I said within the next year so if he has a couple more fights and keeps winning in that time he deserves his shot, especially if he beats a world ranked contender

Paul has to try and engineer a big fight somewhere along the line. How do you do that other than calling out the big names?
