As I'm sure most of you guys know I box abit myself and I really appreciate the classic forums feedbacks on my fights as they are some of the best boxing brains known to mind. So I'd appreciate any feedback negative or positive. Well I fought last night. It was my first senior fight so I was nervous and it really tired me in the last round because I was so tight but I think I did really well and showed I was just as strong and powerful as my opponent (which i thought I wouldn't be). VIDEO ON PAGE 2 Here's the fight. I am in blue. Cheers lads, again I really do appreciate any help or feedback. Video might take an hour or so to be playable, worked fine on my other computer though.
i couldn't get it to play.how did you get on ?? are you still using that short hook to the body ?? and jabbing enough ??
I'll give you a wee brief. Should work soon though. I started out looking to box behind my jab but soon found my right hand counter to the head was landing, and hard! So I started to pick hard counters and stood in front of my guy a bit and punched with him as I knew I could take him out. Made it a bit sloppy as I did box well but when I have my guy, I'm not going to let him off the hook. Didn't do much body work as I was hitting the guy to the head and hurting him, so did not feel the need to dig to the body as much, and I didn't really fight inside as much as I normally do due to me thinking he was going to be stronger. I think the guys who have seen me fight before will think I have improved my composure, defence and pure boxing skills, as well as my power.
Should come up soon, JG. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qsv2XHtr8c[/ame] This was in March earlier this year. As it happens this guy is from the same club as my opponent last night.
The big thing for me was you made a lot of pointless moves...looking to see if you've ironed that out.
I think it has, but be interested in your thoughts as always. Thought I was pretty much down to business in this fight.
Think maybe he needs to turn those knuckles a bit more? Just a bit more economy and fewer nervous extensions would do you a world of good (based upon the other stuff of you i've seen). You can get all sorts of relaxation techniques from sports science guys these days. It sounds gay, but it's not. On another note entirely, but not entirely unrelated, have you read the short story Sonny Liston Was A Friend of Mine?
No ain't read that. You got a link? This video better be ready to go soon because its been 'processing' for ages. It works on the computer I uploaded it with, through YouTube.
