Cheers Teeto. One thing I am good at is finishing I had two stoppages despite hitting like an obese asthmatic 5 year old, girl.
I'm not feeling this apologetic attitude Greg, you should be feeling on top of the world. Bet you can't wait to get in there again.
Yeah i saw so, flashing out the left jab and rights coming in behind them, everything's just tighter though, your feet and punches, well done,
Finally got the link to open. You're a crowd-pleaser, Greg, not a poseur. Anxious to mix-it-up 'n get instant payback ('n that can't be taught), impressive arsenal: tight hooks, (sweet bending left hook to the body), punches in bunches 'n tasty shoeshines underneath. But, what excited the crowd, made it a tougher win than it needed to be. You had every tool to out-class 'n stop him. His only shot was to rush an out-muscle you. You have the legs 'n boxing savvy to use angles (doesn't always have to be mano-a-mano), spin him -- instead of putting on ear muffs in corners 'n against the ropes -- 'n most important: FEINTING. He'd take the bait 'n rush head-long into a barrage. His momentum 'n your shots would stop him, or give him instant religion. All these things are fixable. You can be a cracking good fighter.
Took its time. Sodding thing. Thanks. My trainer says the same thing. I like a fight too much. Solid advice, will get to the gym tommorow and work on it. Thanks JG means alot.
I watched it with my eye on something else but clear improvements, so well done. This lads a very different style to the SP you've had a few fights with, so hard to judge improvements but they are there Your jab looked quicker and you used the angles better with it. You used more upper body movement to avoid punches. Lots of pressure and shorter faster punches than your opponent I have a feeling being scared of your opponents strength helped you fight like the boxer mover you should be when fighting smaller opponents you feel you can brawl, which gives up your height advantages. Or maybe you just improved. In the early going though I was very impressed with your boxer mover credentials more so than before You could still work on keeping your optimal distance (which you did in the beggining) as I'm sure a Monzon fan like yourself can appreciate. You were giving up your height and slapping when going for the finish, rather than picking your punches and looking to sit on your shots. I'm guessing you were tired then though as you weren't doing that earlier or maybe your hands hurt? If you are going for the finish and come to close range, you need to work on sitting on your punches and dropping the opposite foot of your punching hand behind you to get loads of torque. But most of all keep punching straight and following through when tired. It is hard for a tall rangy fighter to learn how to get torque at close/mid range. You need to learn to turn your hand over and bring the elbow upfast after throwing a few pitter patter set up shots Anyway I didn't mean to throw water on your party, congrats on the win
