Good fighters shouldn't ever fight each other until it's worth a trillion each.

 

I understand Gaz's way of thinking. I actually agree with him, as much as I want the fight to happen.

I know exactly why it's not happening and understand too.

Doesn't mean that I should be delighted about it...... I just want to see good fighters face each other.

Just a shame that our British title has been devalued by the now shitty Commonwealth and Euro titles.... and a million & 1 ''world'' straps to be deemed unworthy for fights such as these.

I've got no major beef with this one being left for a bit anyway, it's just when people start talking about Macklin vs Barker being ''brewed'' that I think they should have a word with themselves.

It's been left long enough and both have fought nobody!!

 

I never said it was..... that said I do think that it's a shame that people (i.e. the fans and also the TV) just roll over and accept it all the time...... though it's not a fight that many people are crying out for given that nobody knows who the hell Groves is.

The days of the Benn/Eubank terrestrial TV contract signings are long gone obviously, some of these fights happening earlier won't really change that either.

I'm not going to turn into Rob here btw.

Gaz i thought u were better than these kind of posts. plenty of people understand why not its happening but it doesn't mean they cannot be pissed off about it.

Groves has said for 2 years he wants the fight as soon as possible. 50k is probably one of the biggest offers for a Commonwealth title defence in recent years and he had won it would have catapulted him into the big leagues. the fact that Warren has now put DeGale in with Smith shows that he has true confidence and belief in his fighter.
