Look, to be fair, Floyd today is not the one that lost to Castillo in their first fight, and Manny is not the same since his controversial win over JMM, so to use either one as a blueprint to beat them TODAY will not work. Styles do make fights, that is true, but only when the fighters with those styles are the BEST at what they do or the style issue won't be a factor. Manny does not need to fight like Castillo to beat Floyd and Floyd does not need to fight like JMM to beat Manny. Floyd has an edge with having the experience in adapting to his opponents style and he does whatever it takes to make them fight his fight at his pace. Manny recently is the opposite; he will fight whatever type of fight his opponent chooses because he is so confident in himself. Floyd fights with his mind, Manny with his mind and his heart. He'll need both to beat Floyd and Floyd knows damn well he'll also need the same to beat Manny. Manny is too fast and too strong too get truly hurt like Hatton or Mosley did with Floyd because Manny is clearly in much, much better shape than either and I think he's up there easily on par with Floyd, probably even in better shape, that I think is the thing that scares Floyd the most aside from Manny's power. He knows Manny can keep it up for 12 rounds with nonstop volume punching enough to outhustle Floyd to a decision. If Manny was just a basic puncher, Floyd would of fought him a long time ago. He knows Manny is a double edged blade. Floyd isn't a huge puncher, but a decent one. He can surprise Manny at any moment and it would be unwise to underestimate Floyd's power. I don't think Floyd will knock out Manny, but he will stun him that's for sure. Manny uses those weird angles on Floyd, Floyd will have a hard time finding an opponent that doesn't stand right in front of him.

You have a point but if you really followed Pacman's early career, you would know that it was a different Pac who fought with JMM. Pac used to throw 3-4 punch combos although not much with accuracy in his early days and such was shown in Sasakul, Ledwaba and Barrera fights. It's really ridiculous that he threw nothing but jabs and straight lefts against Marquez. I thought that the three KDs he scored in the first round backfired on him in the sense that he became straight left happy in the succeeding rounds and got frustrated as his coach was when he failed to finish off JMM.

I think not many people know that! I for one didn't know that. Didn't Oscar say that Pac hits as hard as Mosley and Vargas?

You're right. Floyd-Castillo I is not a good gauge because Pac is levels above Castillo.

Credit should go to the great JMM, the best Mexican fighter ever for his good chin and resiliency!

Yeah, very tough indeed. I think the consensus before the fight then was Morales would easily beat Pac, nobody thought that he would be helped a lot by a headbutt to earn a close UD.

Of course he knew, his first line said it! Zahir's obviously a bad style match for Morales, it has nothing to do with his fight with Pac.

The first half of the Pac-EM II where Erik was winning indicated otherwise. Some people saying Morales was washed up at that time were simply dicrediting Pac's win and were in denial that the Filipino fighter had improved a lot.

I am a Pac fan and I know in my heart that Pac will knock out Floyd anytime anywhere! I think Floyd knows it too that's why he's on vacation.
