Teddy Atlas is one of the greats man. A lot of the above's just plain ignorance. Won't find any legit, elite fighter with anything to say about him. Atlas did box under Cus D'Mato. Not sure if he went pro. He also trained and sparred Mike Tyson with D'Mato . Teddy's just a real tough guy though. He's fearless. Real hard man. Spent time inside for illegal streetfighting, and knife fighting. Great stories about him. An 18 year old Tyson was making unwanted advances to Teddy's niece. Teddy went round to Tyson's home with a gun, and very nearly shot him. Had to be talked out of putting a bullet in his head. There was a 20 minute stand off with Teddy having a gun against Tyson's skull!? Suspended numerous times by ESPN for threatening co commentators, anchors, pundits!
A lot of the heat Teddy gets is just linked to him daring to tell the truth about what goes on in boxing. Of course Pacquiao's team asked for clauses so that drug test failures will be dealt with in house, confidentiality. It's an Arum favourite. Probably been in a lot of Pacquiao contracts in the past. New York Times reported this, having seen the e-mails. Not some two bit blog. Teddy was shown the e-mails as he's trusted in boxing. Seriously, it almost certainly happened if Teddy says so dirty sport boxing
Yeah no sugar coating or BS from Atlas. That turns off a lot of people. He is trying to do good by the sport and thats commendable. Hes long been an advocate for a national commission and I think its a good idea, plus it might change some of this PPV BS.
What "legit, elite" fighter did Teddy train? Best is probably Moorer and that didn't last too long. Teddy pulled a gun on like a 14 year old tyson. Now, I'm not saying he did the wrong thing by pulling the gun especially if the neice was real young, but it's gay to keep talking and arguably bragging about it...
I like Teddy Atlas I especially like his work with a young Mike Tyson I thought he was fantastic in the corner for Michael Moorer against Holyfield, I think he won Moorer the fight as he knew how to get the best out of him His commentary on the contender season 2 finale with Bika v Codrington shows he knows his stuff And on the Contender:USA v UK he gave advice to K9, he spoke about how he shouldnt rely on just loading up the big right hand. Now K9 is a more rounded fighter and a legitamate IBF champion Im a fan of Teddy And his commentary on fight night round 4 on the x box makes the game
Well from what i know about Teddy is that he was a lose cannon and tough street kid with a doctor for a father . Teddy was not a guy to cross and has skill as a trainer also knows how to sell himself a bit . So what u see is not always what u get . But to get on face book and friend boxers just to run back to a chat room is **** ! .
What about the Tedy Atlas curse? is it active these days? if he roots for somebody to win that fighter will surely loose. Last year i remember him only beeing right with 2 or 3 fights.
Donny Lalonde Mike Tyson Junior Jones Mike Grant Shannon Briggs Michael Moorer Hes worked with some fighters not all elite
A microphone and a tv camera pointing at you does NOT make you a so called "expert".Teddy is in love with himself and his tough guy persona is getting old.
