Due to his punching power, obviously.

Yep, he is a fighter who had the single biggest asset in boxing - unbeatable even when beaten. That alone should give him a spot in the HOF! :D

I can only imagine he's on there to avoid accusations of bias and the face of it, a guy who was world champion and retired undefeated is always going to get on the ballott. However, despite Ottke actually being a pretty good fighter, his reputation is mud and I predict he won't get one single vote.

Tyson and Chavez are no-brainers. I think Tszyu is HOF worthy but I'm not certain he'll get in first time - I think Joey Archer might sneak ahead of him.

You should feel ahshamed to try to cover up the corrupt Sauerland. The German Crowd is incompetent. They don't kow the difference in quality between between Haye and Sosnowki. They buy everything over there, does not matter if Wlad is fighting Chisora. In the US, they would never even buy **** fights like that, because the public has knowledge about the sport.

The crowd just wants to see their fighter win, it does not even matter if the other guy gets robbed. Ottke wins every close decision, always the benefit. Plus, he wins descions in fights where he clearly got outpointed Reid and that Danish fighter).Do you honestly believe Ottke would have even won the title with his hit run and hold style in another country? This Ottke was disgrace to the sport.

I have more respect for a guy like AA who doesnt need these corrupt judges, and actually has the courage to fight the best abroad where he is not protected.

He wasnt. Ottke didnt want to fight Calzaghe saying Joe dosent have what he wants. Joe was happy to go to Germany but Ottke didnt want to know. But regardless of that it shouldnt completely detract from Ottkes achievements, everyone gives Hopkins a pardon for ducking Joe and Ottkes SMW title defences are overall very impressive

ottke should never go in...be rewarded for what? his career was a sham. he had decent boxing skills but thats about it. he wasn't fast and he couldn't punch. and i wont even begin to go into his robberies. hell mundine was giving him all he can handle with only 10 professional fights and wasn't he actually winning on cards before ottke luckily knocked him out. that's the only true "great" fight of his that i respect.

    I have to differ

This Ottke roberies is blown out of proportion. Most people feel Reid beat Ottke and the refereeing was disgusting, but what are all these other robberies? He had some close fights but seemed to be edging things most of the time, and when the chips were down he produced a KO

Couldn't punch? Have you not seen his six horrendously vicious knockouts? He knocked out an undefeated Mundine who has only been stopped by the power-punching Ottke. Also Mundine's promoter had paid off the judges. Ottke easily won every round before unleashing the punch that was heard around the world.:bbb

Ottkes KO of Mundine was amazing.
How many greats have been behind and pulled a KO out the bag when needed? Chavez, Foreman, Marciano, J Lewis and Ottke
