****ing hell...you almost have to admire this guys resolve, ability to sell a fight and delusion at times. Nothing will ever shut this guy up, even if he loses this fight.

Do you really give him no chance at all?

I understand why you are being critical of Audley, but I've never been sold on Haye as a heavyweight and I still don't think he's accomplished that much since making the jump up.

The best he looked was against Ruiz, so maybe he is better ad******g to the weight, but for whatever reason, Ruiz always seems to try and box these smaller fighters (Jones, Toney, Haye) rather than use his normal jab & grab style.

What are your views on Haye as a heavyweight right now? Do you give him a better chance against a Klitschko than you give Audley against him?

    Wait! Did he really?

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

We've been trying to get Haye on the show for awhile now. Hopefully this interview will inspire him to come on the program.

I give him a better chance against a Klit than Audley has against Haye yes. Mainly because Haye could land on Wlad and hurt him and he is quick enough to cause Vitali problems. That said I think he gets KOd by both Klit brothers, especially Wlad. I used to think Vitali was the tougher fight and he was for most of his career but now he has slowed down more and is less mobile.

Wlad would be wary of Hayes power and jab him to death. I was not impressed especially by Haye against Ruiz, he smothered his own work in the first and then allowed Ruiz back into the fight through inactivity. What hope does he have against Wlad other than a punchers chance?

Audley fights like a lazy snail. He has ability, he has decent speed, combination punching etc but he doesn't use it. He might come out to use it against Haye, but Haye is MUCH faster and will does better against taller men. Not Valuev tall (where he DID break his hand in the second anyway) but his height or a little taller.

Audley has almost no chance. I mean it's boxing and it's heavyweights where neither has a good chin, so you cannot say 100% on anything, but I am very very confident that Haye flattens him inside 3. If Harrison does come out actually going for it, then he will be KOd inside the first round.

If he fights as he usually does he gets stopped in the third, maybe fourth.

I agree with this last part. There was a time when Vitali was the tougher and his main advantage over Wlad was chin, durability, mental toughness and other intangibles.

Since then, I believe Wlad has shown improvement whereas Vitali has obviously been in steady decline.

I think, however, that I actually give Harrison a better chance against Haye than I'd give Haye against either Klitscko. That's just my personal opinion.

You make some good points here. I actually thought Haye's fight against Ruiz was his most impressive effort to date at heavyweight, but as I mentioned earlier, for some stupid reason Ruiz always seems to abandon his normal tactics against smaller fighters for some stupid reason.

Well, you make a valid case and chances are I think that it probably will play something out along those lines.

Either way, I'm a lot more interested in this fight than I was previously.

I give Audley a decent chance in this fight with Haye, he has size and reach advantages and a good boxing brain. I think he has the heart to do it and unlike Briggs in his title fight, I believe Harrison is not just doing it for the money, but will give it his best shot.

Haye is vulnerable and his defence against Ruiz was flawed. He has a dangerous style against a big guy like Harrison. Haye is not going to fight in the inside to beat Harrison, he is going to rely on his speed to get him in and out, but Harrison will be expecting that.

Take the performance of a less talented guy like Rogan against Harrison. He fought on the inside and just stuck his head on Audley's chest and got tore in. Harrison didnt like that and he didnt have the space to utilse his strengths. Haye will give Harrison all the space he wants - so there are valid risks here for Haye in this fight and it could be an intriguing fight if Harrison can avoid Haye's bombs early in the fight.

Audley can't avoid bombs. It was noticeable his reactions were completely shot in his last fight. Especially early on when Sprott had a little more speed. Harrison was getting tagged easily enough by an average fighter. He's going to struggle to avoid Haye's shots unless he completely goes into his shell and blocks.

I disagree with you on Briggs, gasman.

Shannon weighs 248 and he has not been under 250 since late 2001. To me, this is a strong indicator that he is taking this fight very seriously and for good reason, as Vitali has shown signs of decline and (IMHO) is prime to be beaten.

I do agree, however, that Audley is also taking his opportunity very seriously and will be willing to give it his best.

    You make some interesting points.

Do you think he will go into his shell, and if so, what repercussions do you anticipate?

If he goes into his shell he'll just lose the fight a little later, thats all I'd expect. I don't buy that Harrison will come out all guns blazing in this fight. Why would he suddenly do that now? Time and time again he talks a good fight and never delivers one so why not when he's facing up to the fastest and biggest puncher, and best overall fighter he's faced as a pro is he going to come up with this revolutionary new style?

We've always been pleading with Audley to put his punches together his whole career and very seldom has he done it, so I for one am not going to be fooled into believing his patter once again. He'd be a good salesman, but I expect another performance where we're throwing our controllers at the TV until he gets sparked.

Hopefully he does come out and do what he intends to. That's his only chance, gold medalist or not he's not going to outbox Haye at this stage. He doesn't do enough work himself, he's not consistent enough with his jab to outbox Haye, Haye's going to be too fast on his feet and will control distance and work when he wants to. So Audley has to get stuck in a throw bombs.

He came out firing in the second Danny Williams fight and the first Sprott fight. In fact if he had finished off Sprott in the first round, it would have been interesting to see how he progressed from there, because he looked like a different fighter in those two short bouts.
