Noons had his first MMA match in 2002, his first pro boxing match 2004. How is he a boxer turned MMA fighter?

That's really a misnomer when they say that. Noons was a kickboxer turned MMA fighter - then boxer.

If Diaz keeps his pride in his pocket & doesnt try box with Noons he will **** Noons up, Diaz is the better MMAist & will submit Noons IMO (IF he doesnt try stand up with him)

The only way Diaz can beat Noons is if he pins him against the cage. If Noons can keep it in the middle, he will **** Diaz up EASY

While I do like this matchup, I would honestly prefer Diaz vs Mayhem, just for the pure hate from the Cesar Gracie Camp riot.

He tried that the first time, Noons was up in 5 seconds. Noons only trains his TD defense for this fight. He knows he owns Diaz standing up and hed be ready for Nicks tricks.

Psychologically, advantage Noons, hes really gotten into Diazs head and Nicks playing right into Kjs hands.

Well Diaz has been on an absolute tear, is a geniune 170 who can fight at 185. KJ had a long time away, is a natural 155, and didn't really impress

Watching the fight from 2007 now and im failing to see this dominance from KJ Noons. Diaz spends about 2 and half minutes putting pressure on KJ, Diaz goes for about 3 takedowns while Noons stuffs each one, Diaz being more active with his strikes, Noons mainly looking to counter neither is very accurate so far. At about 2:30 Diaz gets a double leg takedown, passes however soon as he does KJ hits a well timed escape and gets back to his feet. Diaz was cut by a shot when he shot in nothing new Diaz was always cut in those days its alittle better now. KJ lands a right hand onto the eye of Diaz that has blood dripping into that puts Diaz on his ass for a flash KD, Diaz isnt hurt and gets back to his feet soon after. Diaz starts cutting off the cage a bit, landing a few peppering shots and gets a takedown as round 1 ends. Diaz's cut is to severe and the fight is over. Pretty competitive fight it seemed to me then and now watching it agian.

As I said before Diaz has something in this fight he didnt 3 years ago and thats being able to fight at his natural weight. Diaz struggled to make the weight and looked terribly sluggish and virtually all his Lightweight fights and especially this one very slow and looked no on energy from the start.

Diaz's boxing technique, ring iq, etc. isn't great as some have said, but the use of what skills he uses standing work well because he has great timing.

Noons is slick but gets away with it in MMA, in boxing he wouldn't. Plus we know he can be ko'd. So he isn't invincible at boxing. If Diaz was weight drained and as a result will be sharper then he won't take the same shots and can start dishing out his pitty patter.
