LUCIAN BUTE likely to move up to 175lbs, early 2011, after the BRINKLEY fight !!

If he was going to do it, he should have done it before Pascal signed to fight Hopkins. And you know I'm one of the biggest non-Canadian Bute supporters here.

 

Just go check out the RDS website and you'll see their comments. It's quite easy to understand at this point, they definitely want to keep fighting on HBO and by staying at 168lbs, most likely no fights will land on that station next year too.

They figured might as well look for big money fights now instead of later. They'll get Bute ready and sharp for 175lbs. Pascal will definitely be a big fight before the end of 2011 and I guess the S6 guys will also move up anyways sooner than later.

 

Where did you read that they were planning to move up to 175.

Basically what it says is that Bute is the WBC champ (lol) and that he's going for his seventh defense (lol) with Brinkley. It talks about Pascal, Calzaghe and Green. They want Green to drop weight, without ever mentioning to what weigh,t 175 or 168. Facing Green at 168 is implied in that shitty article, but it isn't clear.

Maybe you have another article that is more clear, but that's the one I get on RDS.

 

Bad news for the 175 'ers if Bute moves up. Great news for "SOB" Ward...

 

Just read an article on b-scene and apparently Danny Green is one of the "first names on the list" for Bute. I'm sure Green can still make 175 because his fights with RJJ and Briggs (if you can actually call that a fight) were at catchweights much closer to LH than CW but it's hardly the best fight to be made for Bute.

I'd much rather see him face good young fighters like Cloud and Shumenov (and also Cleverly if he gets past Braehmer).

It has been pointed out that Showtime has options on the S6 winner a million ****ing times, and yet you keep babbling about an HBO fighter fighting the tourney winneratsch

He should fight the loser of Froch/Abraham and then, if he wins, fight the winner of Hopkins/Pascal.

Be great to see him finally fight a top boxer. He's getting way too much hype and undeserved respect.

 

I think you guys are giving to much importance to that one news article.

Until Interbox themselves or Bute talks about it. I won't believe it.

 

Calzaghe would smash Bute, it wouldnt be close, even now.
