BULL****!! V.K. looked finely tuned and in full control over rugged but limited Al Sos back in May... Klit took the Polish dude apart before kayoing his ass hard in round 10... C'mon, WTF? Klit is the man..... MR.BILL:hat
So, you don't think there's much difference between the Vitali that entered the ring against Lennox Lewis and the Vitali that entered the ring against the Sozinator? Because I think the LL Vitali would've blitzed Sosnowski in three or four rounds and then taken his mother, Dorothy Sosnowski, out for a nice sea food dinner and never called her again, because...ah, well. Never mind.
He's so "faded" that he arguably hasn't lost a round since he came back. We should all "fade" like Vitali has!
Of course he's older now, but he fights smarter and he's still as dominant as ever. He doesn't take as much punishment as he used to and concentrates more on maintaining distance, which is the influence of Emanuel Steward coming into play. Vitali has picked up a few things from Manny, even though Fritz is still his trainer. If he somehow doesn't do well against Briggs, then I'll buy the argument that he's faded. But not until.
You can be physically less and mentally more, for sure, but I definitely think he's physically less with at least a bit of significance. There's no question he's still dominant despite that. Would it become a problem against better competition than Sosnowski if some with balls happens to show up? Very well could, imo.
V.K. is at the top of his game.... BUT! I do expect Shannon Briggs to bring his "A" game to the ring on the 16th.... I'm not saying Briggs will win, but he'll be tuff / game... V.K. is the baddest mother****er at age 39 that I can think of right now.... MR.BILL
I actually think Briggs is going to be a live opponent for at least a few rounds. He seems to be taking this seriously and not just as a cash-out fight. I think Briggs's ego is big enough that if this is going to be his last fight, he doesn't want to look bad on his way out. The possibility of an upset is at least there, unlike Vitali's last few fights.
I agree ... Briggs is serious about this fight. Unlike some writing him off, I think he has a chance at an upset if he's in shape, which he appears to be. He will test Vitali more than anyone has lately. That fact alone makes this one of the more interesting HW fights in some time.
While I was yawning about Wlad Klit's rematch with Sam Peter, I'm drooling at the mouth for V.K.'s fight with Briggs... MR.BILL:hat But This ESPN3 **** is bull****...:deal
Yes, he is faded since his comeback fight against Peter, thats what everyone is saying, but just look what he is doing to his opponents. Vitali schooled each and everyone of them with his 39 years.
Here in australia Briggs is paying $10 for the win.... Statistically i know the fight favours Vitali but i still put $50 on Briggs
Of course you would. So why won't Haye step in the ring against the old faded Vitali? Is he waiting for him to get older & more faded?
