Anyone else think that this has something to do with the change of the WBC title from Ward-Dirrell to Froch-Abraham? I thought something was wrong then.
I can think of a provebial laundry list of reasons Pavlik would say "No." 1, They pissed him off when he thought Sauerland was in New York to negotiate a fight between him and AA, but Sauerland/Showtime were secretly setting up the American end of the tourney, and no one contacted KP. 2, Right, wrong, or indifferent, he'll probably make more money for knocking out Vera on 11/13 than Showtime would pay him to fight Ward. 3, Pavlik/Vera is a done deal, and Vera does not strike me as a guy who would take step-aside money. 4, Top Rank and Dunkin want KP at 160 if it's still possible. 5, Pavlik is an HBO fighter, and he is loyal to a fault. 6, He's coming off a loss, and going from losing to a guy like Martinez into a fight with Ward is not a good idea.
The funiest part is, Ward will fight the winner of Green-Johnson. WOW... what a high level competition this will be.
Hang on ... With Dirrell carrying the 'win' over Abraham and no longer involved, doesn't this make it more likely that one of Green-Johnson will progress at the expense of the loser of Froch-Abraham? I'm not sure that's fair. Froch and Abraham will have both been in three wars by that point, whereas Johnson will hardly have done ****, and Green's credentials aren't great either.
What a mess ... Credit to them for putting some best-vs-best fights together, but it's disintegrating now.
........"It appears that Andre Wards next fight will be in Oakland making it 3 in a row" Dan Goosen is behind the "Dirrell injury" I gaurantee it Interesting how the venue was a major problem for both the Dirrell and Ward camps and now Dirrell is out and were back at Oakland?... This **** doesnt sit right......hopefully soon we will know details.
