Massive disappointment but it didn't come as much of a surprise considering the hassle they've made making the fight. I doubt Showtime will scrap the tournament though. Should just throw the winner of Froch/Abraham in with Ward for the final.
If thats the case then hopefully we'll have seen the last of Andre Dirrell. Wouldn't put it past him to actually purposefully injure himself just to get out! Like that goalie in Escape to Victory.
fairly obvious he's ducking it imo, they never wanted to fight each other how long til Rob does a poll, ''who's the biggest ducker'' between him and haye:yep
i feel that way too...it was well intentioned and to deliver that many good fights could only be applauded...it hasnt worked out, but who involved in making the whole tournament can be pinpointed as the one to blame ?...it's a shame, but i still think it was a good thing to set up, my only worries were for contenders for belts that were going to be shut out for three years, and where the whole thing would leave lucian bute, who was for some maybe the best in the division, but wouldnt be after the three years because he couldnt get to fight any of the 'six' and prove himself... anyway...it is what it is..
Well said! If you just ignore the tournament and look at the fights that have been made because of it then it has been a success.
