Hopkins didn't have most of his title defenses in question. Steve Ottke, lost at least 4-5 fights but was corrupt Germany. Hopkins, was always dominate in his victories.

Hopkins: Didnt duck anyone in his division.

Ottke: Never dominated the SMW division since he didnt fight Calzaghe who was ranked above him at times.
Hopkins: Dominated the whole division and became Undisputed MW champ within 5 years

the fact is, it was well said by (i think lance uppercut)...they both have impressive reigns and a lot of longevity and NEITHER fought hall of fame level comp. just dominated good fighters in relatively weak divisions. no more, no less

I have seen most of his fights. Ottke got the nod in every close decision and won fights which he clearly lost (Reid, Danish fighter)

It was absolute disgrace. He got a title fight against Brewer after just 12 professional fights. Then has two close fights against the champion and of course he gets the nod (despite being the challenger) because the fight was at home.Scorecards were cmmunicate to him between rounds which is illegal. On top of that, corrupt judges and sometimes even referees, and promoter Sauerland. To begin with, he would never have won the title form Brewer iwith hold and run style. Disgusting.

Hopkins' win against Trinidad is not "overrated". This word is so overused.
Trinidad was 40-0 at the time, a freakin monster, and was supposed to blow through the middleweight division with ease, after beating the **** out of Joppy. Instead he got taken to school and KTFO. If you don't think that was a great BHop win, you're just a pure hater.

And the 'blown up welterweights' argument is bull**** as well. What fights is Hagler known for? Hearns? Duran? Leonard? Duran was a lightweight for ****'s sake.

 

Bailey got owned in a huge way. He just like Herbzig are the 2 ******ed posters that always defend any european fighters in which they think Mayweather, Williams or any other americans are avoided to fight any european that many here don't even know who they are.
