    It's a marathon, not a sprint.

It may not be glamorous, but conserving energy is effective strategy. The one fight in which he really did that for as long as you say proved that he had better stamina than the other guy. The key difference is Martinez came back from his break and turned himself back on (Pavlik didn't).

I don't think Floyd needs to fight Paul. Williams really punked himself and destroyed a lot of earning potential and big fights, by claiming he could fight in so many weights and jumping all over the place. He should've camped out at 147 or 154 and forced things, by either eliminating opponents or racking up defences till things fell into place. He has Al Hamon as advisor though, so there was a conflict of interest as far as a Floyd fight was concerned. Williams gave welters a reason to not fight him, they could say he's not a welterweight and is too big. It's sad because they messed up that boys career IMO.

I would love to see Floyd vs. Martinez tbh. I think Floyd would have a lot problems with a southpaw, as the shoulder roll is not as effective against a counter right hook and he has to take the lead much more. Don't think his style was built for Southpaw imo, which makes the Pacquiao fight soo interesting of course.

I'd pick Floyd to beat Williams if they ever were to fight, Williams just voluntarily gives away his advantages and would get countered to death. Martinez would have a better shot, with his southpaw stance and slickness on defence.

That **** isn't coo, B. He gave up the middle rounds to Williams and Martinez. You can't be doing that **** when you have a habit of putting your AZZ onto the canvas.

How could you say that Khan, Berto, Alexander, and Bradley are "****ing joke fights." Those are the top contenders in the divisions directly around Floyd. That and to insinuate he is a coward if he does not move up two weight classes makes you a complete ****ing joke.

Martinez-Mayweather is a fight people(most) would be amazed how well Sergio does. Sergio, I've been saying for about a year, is the ONLY person capable of beating Floyd. I still feel this way.

Williams-Mayweather probably ends in Williams getting KTFO, with everybody wondering "how could this happen so quickly?"

I like PW and Maravilla but Paul aint beating Mayweather.

He's more likely to fight Martinez, but he won't fight either. Neither draws enough for the risk involved. It's Pacquiao or Cotto as the higher level options, Khan as a lower level option.

And while Floyd would have plenty of opportunity to counter PWill, I don't think he would throw enough counters to beat PWill's workrate. Williams basically ate a bazillion counters from a harder puncher in Martinez and kept coming, and that's not the type of fight I think Floyd wants any part of.

We're on the same page here.

Everybody has been hung up for years on the idea that Paul's dimensions and volume would somehow have Floyd shitting his pants.

I don't see it. PW just isn't accurate or sharp enough a puncher to really staple Floyd to the ropes and work him over. Floyd would just roll and counter in the pocket like he always does - he'd just be slipping more punches than usual and check-hooking a taller target than usual.

Martinez would be totally obnoxious from Floyd's POV. Angles, speed, timing, the same punch delivered with different degrees of snap on it from one release to the next to keep you guessing. Mayweather would be wilding out in the corner and Roger would be going "Man, I don't mother****ing know! Try dem elbows! ****!"

Hell no! He won't fight the midget the more he won't fight Will And Mart.

  10. Khan potshotted his way to victory against featherfisted Malignaggi. It should have been brutal, instead, it was just a tad bit fun to watch.

Alexander looked like **** against Kotelnik, and got an early X-Mas present.

Berto is overrated, and has shown deep flaws.

Bradley looked mediocre against a mediocre welterweight.

All four if these guys have never fought an elite fighter. Why do you think they'd be ready against Floyd or Pac?

Would Martinez ever be coming back down to 154 after he beats Paul?:think

Anyone who thinks Floyd's scrawny AZZ is going up to 160 is an airhead.

honestly, I dont care what anyone says the fact that khan is even up for discussion at this point shows that floyd is a cherrypicker based soundly on the basis of money and NOTHING else. khan isn't even a proven entity yet, surely not proven enough to be mentioned in the same breath as floyd when you look at their careers, yet a fight is a serious possibility. but guys like andre berto, paul williams and sergio martinez aren't even an afterthought for floyd. PROVEN, ELITE GUYS. and it's not even like floyd doesn't have the ability to beat these guys, even convincingly maybe.
