Holyfield was PFP number 3 when Lewis beat him.

He'd beaten a peak Bowe, a very very good Tyson, and Michael Moorer in the 18 months before. He was never higher at heavyweight.

Are you trying to imply that Wlad or Vitali have beaten many fighters better than Frank Bruno? I can't see anyone on either's resume who I consider a better fighter than Big Frankie B.

Lewis beat a heck of a lot by today's standards. The type of guys Vitali and Wlad face wouldn't even be considered contenders in Lewis's era. Shannon Briggs as an example.

    Razor Ruddock
    Tony Tucker
    Frank Bruno
    Oliver McCall
    Tommy Morrison
    Andrew Golota
    Shannon Briggs
    Evander Holyfield
    Mike Tyson
    Francis Botha
    David Tua
    Vitali Klitschko

The Brothers K are doing a great job making a formerly questioned resume look awesome

Lewis also lost 67% of the fight to someone people claim is a terrible fighter. If Vitali is so **** why did Lennox loose 67% of the fight to him?

 Lennox was in a brawl with Shannon Briggs and was tagged himself and hurt himself a few times.

Only a prime tyson & holyfield could beat Vitali or Wlad so remind me again whether Lewis fought those guys in their prime.

:thumbsup Up until the TKO Vitali was winning on points. If it wasn't for that terrible cut and the ineptness of the cut-man who made it 10 times worse the fight may have had a different outcome.
Either way LL was tested immensely. Vitali took his best punches including a massive uppercut and didnt even blink.
The worst part of the whole affair is LL pussed out and reneged on the rematch choosing to retire instead. ***** move.

they may have closed the gap a bit, but Vitali ..still woulda beet them on they're best day any of them.
Lenox is one of the best fighters to ever step in ,BUT! he met his match with Vitali and he knew it!..hence the retirment..

Rahman KOd a better version of Lewis.

Lewis was horribly slow & out of shape vs Vitali, but showed the warrior spirit, slicing Vitali's face up in the process. Vitali fought a game fight but ultimately wasn't good enough to beat the worst version of Lennox we've ever seen. (since on the HW scene).

This has been discussed so many times...how can any of you really think you are going to do any of the following?
    1. Convince anyone of your opinion of the fight?
    2. Change the outcome
    3. contribute any new information regarding this fight.

Essentially all that can be said has been said and you will not convince Vitali supporters that he would have lost. And there is no convincing LL supporters or Vitali haters that vitali was gonna win or he would have KO'd LL if it wasn't for the cut...Enough. no point to this except that i have to see this thread every other week.

Look the cut saved lewis honestly.

    lewis fans would agree.

    emanual stewart would agree.

it doesnt take a powerful punch to give a cut.

    lennox is a great fighter.

we would all agree that in that fight vitali was the better fighter winning on every score card prior to the cut. as a matter of fact a welterweight could punch vitali to get a cut(not putting down lennox lewis). not knockd down. he did not kiss no canvas.

even though vitalis eye was cut badly.

vitali was still outpunching and outlanding lewis.

lewis is a great fighter cant take nothing from him.

    but dont put down vitali.

the point im tryna make is that people should stop making it seem like vitali was a peice of **** in that fight. its very unfair of people to put down a great fighter such as vitali over that fight.

and stop saying that lennox was old and sloppy. george foreman won a title at 45.

like i said in a previous thread.

lennox lewis won fair and square by the rules of boxing.

Dont take anything from vitali who won on all score cards.

(for the record. Im not calling lennox lewis a ***** for retiring. he didnt retire because of vitali because even if lennox lewis were to K.O vitali in the 1st second he would had retired anyway. Lennox lewis is not at all a *****. even tho im a vitali fan. stop saying that vitali retired lennox)
