I think Marvis would have been well served a division below instead of following dad's footsteps.

Gatti and Ward had everything it took to be great champions. I am not sure why they were just marginal contenders.

Biggs didn't "flop", a Peak Tyson sadistically tortured him in the ring for 7 rounds of hell, utilising stomach-churning body shots & brutal timed punches, not to mention the vicious elbows, lowblows & kidney punches. Poor Tyrell was never the same fighter again, ruined physically & particularly mentally.

I'm not sure whether you know the back ground on the Ali match - in reality he shouldn't have even been in the ring - the guy was missing half his intestines - the result of being blasted by a trigger happy cop - he really should never have been allowed in the ring with Ali in reality

PS - my shout on this post is Kirkland Laing - probably one of the most naturally talented fighters to ever come out of England - but too much of a free spirit I suppose

Hector Camacho might be the best fighter who lacked a great mindset for boxing.

...i think pinklon thomas had the talent...great left jab...to get more out of his abilities than he did....drugs ruined him...

eddie machen....had lots of talent but not quite that extra to take him farther......

..i'll bet the first fighter most of us thought of here was howard davis...

    Hector Camacho

    Riddick Bowe

    Herol Graham

    Pat Cowdell

    Francesco Damiani

All had great skills and/or physical gifts, but fell short of their potential due to not having the killer instinct and mental toughness that the ATGs had.

nice list. I was shocked by the Nelson/Cowdell fight.
