«La situation change de jour en jour dans le monde de la boxe» admet Jean Bédard, président du Groupe Sportscène.

Plus tôt cette semaine, Bédard annonçait que Lucian Bute pouvait affronter au printemps prochain Danny Green ou Joe Calzaghe advenant une victoire contre Jesse Brinkley la semaine prochaine.

Mais voilà que le tournoi Super 6, qui a une influence indirecte sur la carrière du champion IBF des super-moyens, perd un de ses principaux acteurs avec le retrait d’Andre Dirrell.

Ce retrait aura sans doute une incidence positive sur Bute et ses admirateurs.

«Il faut revoir encore nos plans» ajoute M. Bédard qui précise qu’il veut «des gros noms» comme adversaire pour Bute.

Un des seuls noms mentionnés au cours de l’entretient téléphonique est celui de Kelly Pavlik, qui pourrait être un adversaire potentiel de Bute au mois de mars.

On ne parle donc plus de Dany Green, ce qui est une bonne nouvelle. «Green pourrait affronter Diaconu» précise Jean Bédard.

Et pour ce qui est d’un affrontemet entre Pascal et Bute, «ça pourrait être en mars... 2012» ajoute M. Bédard en riant!

Une chose est sûre, Jesse Brinkley doit être au courant de tout ce qui se dit cette semaine sur l’avenir de Bute, et la situation doit grandement le motiver.
