I was going to start a similar thread you beat me too it. That was one in the eye for the brigade who have been mocking him and shouting him down for fighting for Pakistan. Well done Haroon Khan.:happy
The one sad thing about him winning is that now they are going to be saying that the British Team were wrong in not selecting him.
well there was no way khan could have been selected ahead of yafai who would have been one of the favourites for gold had he not got injured.
Amir Khan has already said that, on twitter he said that the English guys is out. Although this shows that he clearly has talent I still highly doubt that he could stay with Yafai. Maybe the ABA should make a fight after the tournament between Yafai and Khan to make it clear as to why Khan isn't in the GB team.
So, has Haroon won Gold? At what weight was it? I haven't been following the Games at all, FAIR F'N PLAY TO HIM!!! :happy I hear he wants to turn Pro straight after the games, I will be intrigued to see how he gets on........ Let's hope he has a better chin than his Brother :yep
no he just won his QF against welsh boxer Andrew Selby. this guarantees him a bronze. think he's fighting the indian favourite next though so he won't get to the final
Fair play to him. He is sloppy as **** though [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU-mPZhUllk[/ame] A tough draw next then, although I predict a great boxer will come from India within the next ten years, some Duran-esque street urchin who'll strike fear into about five weight classes :deal Ain't seen any of the Indians so far though, I hear there's a middleweight they have who is something else.
I hope you are right, it would be great for world boxing to open southern asia like how Manny has for southeast asia
Haroon has got himself a medal, it don't matter if it's Gold, Silver or Bronze, it's what he set out for. Regardless of what people think, I am really pleased for him...:good
You need more than just poverty to create great boxers, you need good trainers and an environment for them to train in
When has he suffered bigotry? He has proven time and time again that he is not good enough for team GB.
