I'll be throwing a few quid on Margarito.

Call me delusional, but I think Margarito stops Pac late in a gruelling affair. In addition, the odds are fantastic.

I would put money on Margo for a longshot in a heartbeat if this wasn't a top-rank in-house affair.

If Margarito can get on the inside and make it a war he'll win by KO plain and simple. Thing is, I'm not sure he can overcome Pac's speed and work his way inside consistently enough to make it a real battle.

I'm normally not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but let's face it -- Margarito is coming off a huge professional disgrace over the last year and a half, and suddenly is thrust back into the limelight by Arum in the most prized matchup you can imagine -- For MEGA bucks. You think Arum wants to risk, in any way, shape or form, his prized charge on the eve of what could be the highest generating PPV fight of all time? I want to think everything is on the up and up with this one, but wouldn't put my money on it.

I really don't think Margarito is taking a dive, if that's what you think. Sure, Arum is throwing him back in the mix a little fast for some people's taste and Pac vs. Margo isn't the most sought after fight, but Margarito has a lot of pride and a lot of heart, and I guarantee he will give everything in this fight. He doesn't come across as a fighter who really cares about the money, he wants to wreck dudes and win belts. He wants to prove himself and get back to where he was. Arum is probably thinking it's an easy fight for Pac and it's just easy to make, I doubt he's asked him to take a tumble, he would've said the same thing to Cotto or Clottey, just because Margo's coming back from a real bad disgrace, I don't think he'll go down for anyone.

It might be worth a small bet if the odds are so good but I wouldnt waste big money betting on the unlikely.

In defense of what you're saying, it's obvious he's training very hard for this fight, so that's a good sign at least that he's serious about it. I honestly think if a 100% motivated Margarito comes into this fight, it could be a very difficult night for Pac.

when Pac fought DLH i was like.. well,DLH isnt in his prime but,he will be too big and strong for little Pac,and i lost my bet.
Then Hatton came along and i was like, well,DLH was shot and old but Hatton is younger and still stronger than Pac...there i lost again.
Then Cotto seems to be a different animal, here a really huge and strong natural welter....and,lost it again.
Pac can fight against Wlad Klitsshko himself and im wont bet against him.

My first thoughts are that Arum risked an undeafeated Miguel Cotto against Margarito when Cotto was on the cusp of attaining a fight against Oscar. Top Rank hasn't been shy about risking their top talent just as long as the risk is somewhat negated against one of their own fighters.

On a long enough timeline. The survival rate for everyone drops to zero

Margarito is only two fights from being the best welter on the planet , but I think he is mentally shot and will be chopped down . Will not be easy though and I dont think Manny will look as good as mosley did.
