I'm curious to see lists of well known and respectable man who know a lot about boxing. I've seen something like that but I lost link to that source and couldn't find in one place around the web. I woulbe happy to see P4P and also divisional all time rankings. And also I would like to know your opinion on particular lists.

Not to be a dick about it, but Monte Cox is an ass. He used to post here, and had the most closed off, "know-it-all" style you ever saw. Whenever anyone would post something in opposition to his opinion, he'd start the response with "The (whatever secret nerd society he belonged to, I don't even remember anymore) determines that....blah blah blah." As if that was the end of the discussion, because some official roundtable group of his online buddies decide whom is right and wrong. I always hated his approach and resent him for it.

S89 (though not so "respectable") as historian.

Cox is a good historian in his own way. He is very old fashioned but we need guys with different opinions. Although he is very abrupt and dismissive which is not good.

Stonehands is by far the best boxing historian around today, or at least on the classic.

Are people mistaking the question and supplying views on who they think is p4p the best boxing historian on the internet ??

Or is that the question ? :huh

Personally, I dont consider boxing historian a "respectable" title. :D But if I had to pick I'd say Mike Tyson, because he was a decent fighter too.

He's written some fine articles. And he's certainly done his research. I like ! :D

Not sure I could accept any "historian"s pound-for-pound list as holding any more weight than mine though !
Such is the nature of these lists, and opinions in general. It's very individual, subjective, personal stuff.

    P.S. I dont even have a p4p list. :smoke
