This was the first time I watched Prizefighter and I really enjoyed it.

I love the format, and I was entertained for three hours.

I penned a quick recap immediately after watching if anyone was interested.

QUESTION: If McBride's knockdown had been scored and the fight was a draw, am I correct in understanding he would have advanced because of the knockdown?

You enjoyed that? Wow, American heavyweight boxing must be on a real decline ;)

If the knockdown had been scored and all 3 judges had it a draw, then the ref (I think) gets to decide who wins. It hasn't happened in the past, even when the same scenario happened (I've seen some judges score the round 10-9 instead of 10-8 for example).

It was a poor prizefighter, imho.

I haven't seen many of them, I'm not a big fan of it to be honest, but that's the worst one I've seen. The other HW ones were better, imho. At least at a base level (the qualities never going to be great) but you get a sort of cheap bar room brawl, punch up, this one was a hug/wrestle/sumo/clinch/hug fest.

The non called knock down punch of Skelton was probably the highlight of the show, but Christ what the hell were him and Mcbride doing for the rest of the fight?!

definitely not the best prizefighter, delighted for Sprott though he doesn't get the praise he deserves sometimes because of him fighting in Germany a lot but would definitely be a top contender maybe even belt holder domestically. Him vs Chisora would be a good watch.

That was like the one of the worst Prizefighter's there's been

The Super Bantam was a recent quality one, as were a few of the HW ones.

Interesting. I guess my assumption I wrote in the article was incorrect then.

In all seriousness, I really enjoyed that. Going forward, I will never miss one of these.
