So Andre Dirrell pulls out of Super 6?

Froch - Dirrell
Ward - Kessler
Dirrell - Abraham
Kessler - Froch

How many of those would we have seen if it wasn't for this huge flop?

 

For all the hype mate and all the excitement it's flop pure and simple. The length of bouts has gotten longer and longer, guys are falling like flies out there. There's probably been one one great bout, The rest have been so..so. Then the rest been awful or one sided.

Let's put it this way...there's been far more negatives then positives.

It's not lived up to expectation...and now it's a mess....clearly Showtime never envisaged this. It's a great idea but been rushed together i'd think. You can see that by the way Hershman's talks...feel sorry for the bloke really do..

 

I understand that it hasn't lived up to the hype exactly but would you have preferred seeing these guys fighting at home against the gatekeepers of the division in one-sided affairs?

 

Has nothing to do with my points imo, The idea has flopped, Don't even need to answer your question because it's common sense but at the same time when a Tournament is made you expect it to be organized. Quite frankly it's been a farce from the get go.

Taylor's inclusion (IMHO should never been picked), To Wards home comforts, To the fiasco with Froch and Abraham venue. Then we have Green and Johnson fighting each other in a bout that no one wants to see in this tournament. We have guys haggling over where they want to fight.

We have Ward now looking likely to fight outside the tournament. Everything has unraveled and sadly it's now made Hershman and Co look stupid. I feel sorry for him but at the same time i think he rushed the product far to fast without having a sensible plan in mind. It's a great idea but hasn't worked out the way it should be. ie- A flop...for fans who got hopes up.

 

the worst bit is they knew they would have to fight each other at the start when they sighned the contracts , so for dirrel to pull out because he thinks it damaging to his future prospects is just a ***** move

Hopefully the remaining bouts do Boxing proud and ease the pressure on poor old Hershman.

 

In all fairness, I would call Super Six a failure. A good idea, but too many variables for the tournament to achieve greatness.

 

If I'm honest I think Mandanda is right, Showtime really screwed the pooch on this one, they would have been better off investing their money on a future superstar like Dawson or Berto. Maybe it's not too late for them to get on the Khan beating up has-beens train. I can only hope.
