Klitschko calls on Haye to accept offer

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has laid down an offer that should remove him from the politics of blame in a bout with WBA titlist David Haye.

In a bid to fight Haye, Klitschko offered the Brit a 50-50 split purse contract, manager Bernd Boente confirmed. He said: “We proposed that each fighter would receive 50 per cent of the world rights, it is a fair offer. Haye has just to agree to it.”

    http://edition.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/10...o.haye.briggs/

"You know, David Haye talks too much."

"David Haye understands; he's smart enough to understand that he's world champion, so long as he doesn't fight the Klitschkos.

"A fight against a Klitschko - Wladimir or Vitali - means he will be knocked out.

"David Haye has good speed, but not so much speed to be quicker than the Klitschkos. David Haye doesn't have the power to knock out Wladimir or Vitali - but the Klitschkos both have speed and power.

"Let's go, champion against champion, see who is the strongest one. We have talked so long, the audience has waited so long... let's do it."

In a full-length interview Vital also reveals that he does not think he has long left as a boxer and also looked back on his three encounters with Britain's best down the years.

I remember when he stopped Herbie Hide in London for the WBO title. Vitali was a five to one underdog.

Haye broke two contracts with Klitschkos. Haye knows he would get knocked out and that is the reason. Haye is trying to get out of fighting Chagaev his mandatory so he can fight Holyfield next. However, he could lose to Audley!

Haye talks but doesn't wanna back it up. I guarentee after the Audley fight he brings up the Chagaev mandatory as an excuse.

    Vitali is the man.

    So underrated.

    He has never ducked anyone.

He stepped in to fight Lennox Lewis on a few days notice and stood toe to toe with him.

When he was stopped on a cut - he demanded a rematch - and it was Lewis who decided to retire rather than fight him again.

Now all these years later - he is still fighting - still WBC Champ - and still willing to face and seek out the biggest challenges out there.

    Vitali is a true champ.

David Haye is a paper champ.

If the Klitschko's stopped pricing themselves out of the market at the negotiating table, perhaps this fight would have already happened?

We could also have seen Klitschko vs Valuev and Klitchko vs Povetkin.

So far all three fighters have claimed it was the unreasonable demands the brothers made that led to fights falling through.

Unbelievable. Your love of Haye has you blinded to what's really going on. It's so obvious even the most die hard Haye fan can see it except you.

Haye is trying to cash in and get some easy paydays before taking on a risky fight against a Klit. Priced out? 50/50 is MORE than Haye deserves. When Haye made that pathetic video, I was expecting him to talk about how it's not really 50/50 because the Klits will choose the ring size, the gloves, there will be multiple rematch clauses, there will be other things in the contract etc. Haye didn't talk about that. Haye said the problem he had was that he wanted to keep 100% of UK PPV money. If he could talk about that then why couldn't he talk about all the other so called unreasonable demands the Klitscko's supposedly made? Why? Or did the Klit's trick him into signing a contract which says he can only talk about certain aspects of the negotiations? What's the name of this tv station that was willing to outbid RTL? Do we have a name? Why didn't he make everything clear like he promised in an earlier video? Here was his chance.

If Haye wasn't British you would be ripping into him. Haye can make easy paydays against lesser opponents and that's why he doesn't want to face a Klitscko YET. It has **** all to do with contracts, **** all. None of us are happy about a fight between Haye and Wlad not happening, some are calling Haye a ***** and a coward, others like me are saying "well, I'm not happy about it, but I understand that he wants to make easy paydays first", but you're one of those people who are STILL blaming the Klits? Are you for real or on a wind up?

If you believe Haye when he says the reason they haven't fought is because of contract disputes then you probably also believe Haye when he says he recieves thousands and thousands of e-mails, begging him to fight Harrison.

Haye is entertaining and that's what boxing needs.

We also need less ducking and more fights. Sigh.

I miss the days when Boxing was on ITV1 ...it was something exciting that we'd all rush into the living room for. The fighters had an interesting personality and true skills in the ring.

Bring back old school ring craftsmanship, true match-ups, and primetime boxing. :)

I know you dont rate Vitali, Beeston.

And you have made no secret of how you think Haye can beat Vitali easily.

However no-one has truly dethroned him yet.

He has a much of a claim to be the man as Wladmir and certainly more than Haye.

He is still the WBC Champ after all these years.

His only 2 losses - both in controvsial circusmtances - where he was injured and had to be pulled out of fights he was winning. (and one of them fights he was winning was against the undisputed heavy champ)

Yes - he looks slow and robotic at times - and has a awkward style.

But depstie looking less than impressive no-one has been able to end his dominace of the divison.

If you really think Haye will win - maybe we should do a bet on betfair - if the fight happens and I can take all your money. :D

Yes. It is obvious. On this forum you have some hardcore Haye fans, but even so, not many of them are blaming the Klits for this one not happening.

    You're on mate :D

I'd bet my house that Haye would lose to Wlad.... in fact David probably would too.

But Vitali..... I see it as 70-30 in Haye's favour, it's his fight to lose for me.

Yea like who? Povetkin who gets a purse bid for $2 million dollars and then realized he's not man enough to get in the ring with Wlad? Or Valuev, who declined a $2.5 million dollar payday claiming he has "Don King and many other people to pay and needs more money"? Or David Haye who declined a 50/50 of all revenue no options contract that him and his manager asked for?

Which one of these three exactly is your prime piece of evidence?

Haye was offered a more than generous deal and he rejected it to fight Audley Harrison.

The Klitschkos want this fight, Haye doesnt want it. Thats all there is to say
