Nice effort. The guy in red is good and boxes smart. He uses his tools nicely and turns you on the inside to setup his punches. You have a guy thats as tall as you and uses his height well. Your going to have to jab and move more from outside and in the angles. I would move to your right double your jab and step in with your righthand so you finish in a position you can step off and start back with your jab or be in a position to throw your lefthook. Keep moving to your right and keep him off balance. When you get inside be aware hes going to turn and throw punches like he did, so either tie up really good or be prepared to fire when he starts making his move to punch.
Hes really relaxed in the exchanges and is countering you well, so dont get into a brawl with him. Box smart.

You can fight with him in the inside, its going to happen just be prepared. Hes good at holding and then moving you into position to hit you in the clinch, so be aware of that.

I thought I got most of the better of it inside, to be honest. He looked to hold and got tied up too easily and allowed me to bang away, it was at mid-range where he was at his best, I thought.

close fight...you were the aggressor and liked the inside, you went to the body nice a few times and showed a good left hook and right hand. I would jab and feint a bit more on the outside. You have a nice variety in close but work on your your leverage and balance so that you are getting the most of your power into a punch. Impressive performance and you took a few and came back well :good:good:good

To me he looked more effective on the inside landing the cleaner shots

    Thanks JG.

There wouldn't have been many boring shows. For some reason every fight I'm in is exciting.

    Thanks.

I think Lethook made some good observations and gave you some very good advice.

Just watched the new fight Greg, he just looked physically sronger as you said, and he was a but more composed and relaxed in there. I reckon you should just shoot one-two's at full length in the rematch and use that hyper-energy you've got in your legs instead of our arms. You've got a good jab and one-two, we know this, so just outbox him but at a high tempo, and i reckon you'll beat him. It'll e hard but you've oviouls got the balls for a dog-fight so who cares?!

wow...missed this, didnt realise you were boxing again so soon.
    another entertaining fight to watch.
he was leaning on you a good bit when he got a chance....also, was your headgear bothering you?...it seemed to be slipping down at times and flustering you, maybe thats just me thinking that though...
all the very best for the rematch fella...i'll be willing you on from me sofa :)

The last time you posted a fight was in February if I'm not mistaken. I remember making the observation that you were developing into a boxer-puncher. This fight shows us that you are further along that road -though seem to be leaning more to the boxer type, despite your willingness to stand and trade like JG saw.

You are getting comfortable in there. Now, to be sure, this opponent was not dangerous or sophisticated, and he came in weak, but we see your evolution. Stand-outs for me was how you are often 'finishing on your left' (remember that? if not, ask me), doubling and tripling that jab, and using those gams. Listen, Betty Grable would be proud of those legs, you have excellent movement when you see fit to do so.

Stay off the ropes and stop leaning in. With gams like that, there is no reason to be a layabout on those ropes. Ali was 32 when he did that in Zaire. You got no excuse. Spin, dip out of there, or jab out. Don't linger there. When you punch, you are using forward motion as you deliver it, which is good, but your head lingers there after the punch is delivered, which is not good. When you shadow-box, practice throwing the shot and then weaving or slipping the expected counter. See how that works? Examples:

    1. Throw a right hand. What's the expected counter for the right cross? A left hook. So, throw the right cross, then weave under to your right.

    2. Throw a left hook. What's the expected counter for the left hook? The right cross. So, throw the left hook, then either weave under to your left, dip under, or have your right glove face forward with the back touching your left cheek.

What you're gonna see is how doing that opens up new shots and combinations. Be dynamic.

    3. When these short guys come in on you, you are doing well jabbing their block off. If they get by it, or if they don't, try bending your knees and shooting a right uppercut. BUT -don't do it if they can see it. Do it when they are close enough and remember the principle of #2 -anticipate the left hook counter and weave under it as soon as the shot is finished. If he throws it, your in position to nail him again with another right uppercut and your own left hook at an angle.

Punch Mechanics. You want to be a puncher? The force of your shots start from your shoulders. That's what's stunting your evolution as such. QUIZ: Tell me where the force of the shots should start and then how to make that happen.
