Morales was drained to a weight he had trouble making hence why he moved up in the first place and it still took Manny 10 rounds with a weight drained Morales to KO him. Whats your story? Manny won because he got his magical gloves back? Roach jumped on the opportunity like usual to match Manny with a shell that clearly is not the same man. When Manny got a draw with JMM Roach had Manny wait four years or so(don't know the exact time but it was years)before rematching JMM. He didnt do that with EM who got dominated by Raheem. Why?

 

Cane man I can't even understand your argument. EM after the 1st fight with Manny moved up and got dominated by Zahir Raheem. One of the reasons he moved up because he had issues making weight. Roach who employed this with Oscar weight drained EM on top of knowing EM was a shell of himself. With Oscar Roach says exactly that he wasn't impressed with Oscar's last 2 fights and made him fight at a weight that he hasn't been at for years and years. Am I not satisfying you by agreeing it was the gloves for Pac getting outboxed?

JMM should blame himself and his managers for the rematch not happening sooner.

 

I disagree that the blood draw affected him. It's obvious it didn't. (He sparred perfectly fine when preparing for Clottey).

the gloves have always been tricky for me and could have been more about manny being thrown off for not having preferred gloves than the gloves themselves making a difference

manny wasn't hitting morales nearly as much as he hit barrera but it could have had an effect knowing that with those size gloves, he wasn't going to do the damage he wanted to and that let morales dictate the fight. could be comparable to hearns in the second round against hagler, KNOWING he wasn't getting the knockout

I can see that its a good point .but i also think theres a big difference between wearing Reyes gloves and wearing the pillows Morales liked to use(Barrera complained about them after the third fight a fight which he won),theres a reason why fighters give so much importance to which gloves they wear.

Was cause of the gloves that Pac won the second fight?No it wasnt but we cant say it didnt made a difference.

 

Didn't Manny and team know what gloves they were going to be using?

 

It was stipulated in the contract arranged by pac's manager Murad at that time. Understandable as morales was the big fish and has the say when it comes to the details of the fight.

 

Then it shouldn't and can't be used as an excuse.


They knew, they should of practiced and gotten use to them. Which the excuses make me think they didn't.



And if they had the other gloves. I doubt the difference in padding was going to KO Morales or hurt him more.
