No, but maybe he will get voted in someday....

If you want to see a list of HOFs in boxing, you can easily google it.

5 wins, 1 draw, and 6 loses in title fights with two world title reigns. Niether of which I believe were linear titles....I would have to say he's someway short of the HOF...but this boxing and crazier things have happened.

Congrats to him for a pretty good career though.

No, not even with their lax standards (ala McGuigan, Mancini, etc.)

Why do people always bring up the two or three guys who got in who generally weren't spectacular but were super duper popular? Why not bring up the fact that guys like Donald Curry, Naseem Hamed or Wilfredo Vazquez aren't in? And Penalosa isn't even CLOSE to being on the level with those guys.

Every hall of fame has a few mistakes, but using them to justify other subpar fighters getting in just causes more mistakes. It's not like baseball, which has one of the toughest Halls out there, doesn't have its fair share of mistakes as well (e.g. Rabbit Maranville, Phil Rizzuto, etc.)

No, but he will be one of the Philippines top boxers.
If he defeated juanma, he could have a shot to be enlisted in the HOF.

no, but he's one helluva fighter and a nice guy. Luv the Gonzalez/ Penalosa fight. he's a warrior and that's good enough for me.

Yeah, it's bad enough, imo, that they let guys like Mancini or McGuigan in, they don't need to COMPOUND the mistake. ****, I've seen people say Buster Douglas should get in! Buster ****ing Douglas!!! :patsch

No. Good technician and good boxing skills but resume is not that good to be a HOF.

really good post and i think sums up the feelings of most on here. the HOF has a couple of blips but we shouldn't use that as an excuse to fill it with second tier greats or goods

Penalosa should have probably went into his fight with De Leon an undefeated fighter.

    Farewell, Gerry.
